Growing up in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, I used to have to spend a couple hours on the riding mower buzzing the family's lawn. And for some reason Barry Manilow's "Copa Cabana" would usually haunt me every minute of it! Fucking nightmare.

With a story like that, it's a wonder I'm not gay, right??

I think I can 1-up you on that right now. I got called early this afternoon by one of the union's bookers to see if I wanted to work the George Michael show on Thursday. The moment he said "George Michael," the "Jitterbug" jumped into my head, and I haven't been able to get rid of it since.

The thing with my Manilow song was that, at first, I actually LIKED the song "Copa Cabana" but then I quickly realized that my brain was registering it as the official lawn-mowing song, and then it turned nightmarish in short order. As I would make a long, sweeping turn on the mower I would get the urge to throw my arm out in a theatrical fashion as Barry'd slide into "At the Coooooooppaaaaaaa!!!!"

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head for a long time but can't remember what it is?
Maybe you've got the tune down and a few words but you just can't remember what the hell it is.
I hate that.
I post this because for about a year I have been trying to figure out what a certain song was based on a tune and one line( love you every single something or other) I remembered. I would search the net from time to time, with no luck,it was frustrating .
I finally found it by chance on youtube just now.
What a weight off my back.
Has this ever happened to any of you?

YES!!! It really gets under my skin when I can't think of the name of the song. The worst is when you have a song stuck in your head that you only know one or two lines for. That line or two keep going around in your head like it was a clogged toilet. Fuck, I hate when that happens! :crash:

This shit usually happens with pop music. I hate mainstream music. I am a Metalhead through and through. So when a pop song tends to play over and over in my mind it drives me to the point of wanting to headbutt a brick wall just to take my mind off that damned irritating music. It would probably work, for a time, then when I regained consciousness it would probably start the fuck up again lol knowing my luck that is. Why is pop music so irritating?.
