Ever Consider Running for Political Office?

I considered running for alderman in 2015 and am strongly considering running for alderman in the next election in 2019

And if i were to run that would be the extent of my political career. I wouldn't seek higher office such as U.S House or Senate. If I were to get into politics it would only be at the local level

I don't have any skellingtons in the closet but I'd never run for anything because of how it would affect my ****** and friends. I'll gladly surrogate for certain candidates and knock on doors and ****. But that's as involved as I'd want to be.

I gave it some thought but, unless you're living in at small town, you need to be in a political party to be elected. You can run without being in a political office but you won't stand any chance.
The oroblem is, when you are a memeber of a political party, it's amost mandatory to say everything your party does or say is gret and everything the opposite party does or say is terrible.

I got all kinda embarrassing stuffs I don’t want uncovered. If I were on a talk show being questioned about them I might verbally deny the accusations but me fumbling with my wiener under the desk fondly remembering them would be a dead giveaway that I was a liar, liar pants on fire.
