Mankind has never been so good at protecting nature as we are now. If you get your head out of your pessimistic arse and look around, you'll find that the environment is improving in most areas. The work is not done yet... but we're getting there.

Remarkably and most fortunately however, she seems to recover quite well from the destructive forces of mankind's exploitive energies... not to mention, recover well from her own self imposed destructive forces. ;)

You conveniently neglected to mention that humanity never had even remotely close to the power to damage nature as it does now. The little marginal things we do to protect nature now compared to what needs to be done that we didn’t do before pales in comparison to our destruction of it. It’s even worse because in the past at least we had ignorance as an excuse. Now people just keep damaging nature because it’s inconvenient for them not to.

Improving...how compared to how much damage we continue to do?
