English Premier League 2009/2010

One English team out of the tournament, that not good.:(
Speaking as an Evertonian it is fucking fantastic.

Liverpool is owned by a couple of chancers who thought that the club were locked into the automatic euro money trough. The annual Moyes miracle of getting Everton into contention on a shoestring was never going to be able to get past that barrier and move them into 4th spot. The one year we did make it to 4th Liverpool moaned for inclusion and got it from 5th spot, so we didn't get a cash advantage over them that season.

I'm very interested to see what will happen if Liverpool do not make the 4th spot this year. They are servicing an awful lot of debt. Without the euro money that 4th position brings they are going to be pretty vulnerable. Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U are already looking safe for the top 3. Liverpool are there for the taking by Spurs or Villa: doubly so if Gerrard and Torres do not stay healthy.

They might make up for it in the Europa League :)

Even if they win the Europa League they will still make no where near the amount of money they would have just by qualifying from there group., if they don't make Champions League next season then one of there star players will have to be sold.

They have nobody to blame but themselves. Too many poor big money signings and they've given up on too many good players.

Look at this mess...is this a club in control of itself? They sign Robbie Keane and pretty much immediately decided he was a bust and lost $10mil on him in, what, 6 months? Ryan Babel, another high profile signing that they don't even play.:dunno:

They will regret not signing Tevez when they had the chance.

What’s the problem with Manchester United?

Having been forced to sell Ronaldo it then became even more important to keep Tevez but they failed to do so. Now the real lack of world class attacking midfielders is there for all to see. Fergie buys far too many overrated, overpriced and average British + other midfield players and many of them can’t even make the subs bench for their country. So they may just be strong enough to win the premier league but when they meet the very best in Europe they are often put in their place.

Chelsea look the most impressive at the moment and if they buy a few good players in the transfer window and their strikers continue to deliver I think they will win the premier league and maybe the champions league too.

I still can’t believe Manchester United or one of the big clubs in Europe didn’t buy Andrei Arshavin. He’s got to be one of the best attracting mid-fielders playing in the premiership and one of the best in Europe.

To win a trophy this season Utd must spend wisely in the next transfer window but where are they going to find the talent they so desperately need that will be eligible to play in the champions league? :helpme:
