Doesn't make a difference, Simon is the only one whos opinion counts, and half the time he's the only one with an opinion. It's the same in UK. All the other judges just say "yes" or "no, sorry" but he's the only one that will give reasons for his choice.

Yup, pretty much it is stupid!

I like the tryouts; but even then I been lacking in watching those in the past couple years. I might watch the first one and maybe the second one. Beyond that, I simply have no desire to watch it. I let the Soup on E! let me see the funnies and screw ups if anything :thumbsup:

Exactly right-its his show all the way and the other judges don't really matter. Ellen will be there to hopefully help ratings and to be the "nice" judge.

Thats a damn good way to kill a show. Get a host who has absolutely no association with the music industry to judge talent... Oh well, 90% of the time the winner of the show is hardly ever heard of afterwards anyway.

I wonder how many gay people will be shown on American Idol, now that Ellen is a judge. This has to be a pro-gay statement of some sort by the American Idol producers, because Ellen has absolutely no business judging musical talent whatsoever.

...not that there is much musical TALENT on American Idol anyway.

The funny thing is that they hired Ellen D after she did such a worthless job as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance. Oh, well - if the aim was to piss out Paula, they apparently succeeded
