Dutch among lowest cannabis users

Nothing new to us Dutch. A vast majority of the coffeeshop vistors are tourists. Makes you wonder why other European countries (esp. Belgium and France) makes such a fuzz about the drugs policy in The Netherlands.

The same reason we dutch are trying to limit the amount of tourists that buy the cannabis. It's because the French & Belgian tourists are the ones that cause all the trouble, both in the border towns & in their own countries.

This is the case because :

1. These people don't know their limit

2. Don't know when the coffee shops close. They arrive when the coffee shops are closed, still want their drugs & are often supplied by dealers that are more than willing to do so (& not only cannabis).

3. Buy more than the allowed amount of cannabis to sell in their own country.

For the most part, this is a great place to live. As far as the dutch being happy people? I'd say they're pretty happy as long as you don't rock the boat and actually suggest that they start living in the 21st century.

They still act shocked that I'm 30 years old, don't have kids yet, AND I actually *gasp* work a whole 40 hours a week. Then when I tell them I have absolutely no intention of giving up full time work once I do decide to have kids because the other half is more than capable of taking care of the kids and house...it becomes the biggest scandal in the world. :1orglaugh
