I just want my 13 inch cthulhu statue....the rest I don't care as much about. LOL

And in other news, Aeryn Walker shall be making a guest appearance at my game next week. ;-)

ah, lucky. im trying to work it when i can have sabrina deep, billy corgan, and sasha grey in one of my games.

actually, forget the game. just bring on the girls.

Well, I started painting one of my miniatures and...I need more practice at it.

The bigger ones do gobble up the paint. It probably doesn't help that I'm not too efficient at using it like somebody that knows what they are doing.

Did you give the mini a base coat?

I haven't tried it with anything other than plastic, but you can probably get a spray can of white acrylic paint and give them a good base. Then when you paint, make sure to thin the paint slightly. What I usually do is put a few drops of the paint on a pallet then dip my brush in water before dipping it in the paint. Makes it a tad thinner and more consistent when being brushed on.

I really need to finish the Descent minis for my husband. LOL

I didn't prime it. The plastic of the bones doesn't react well to the aerosols they put in a lot of cans of primer and will make them feel tacky for months afterwards with they way it chemically reacts to the plastic. From what I hear there are only a small handful of primer brands that work with it. Although I hear The Army Painter brand primer still works alright with them. You also pretty much have to give the bones a base coat of regular strait acrylic paint to start with if you don't have one of the few types of primer that work. The plastic they are made out of is pretty hydrophobic and it will pool and bead way too much if there isn't a base coat to work with. Starting with a light wash might not be viable with them unless one really knows what they are doing. Maybe if you had something else to cut the paint with besides water. I haven't tested it out, but I wonder if thinning the paint with something like flow improver would make it so it doesn't pool.

I think, to be blatantly truthful with myself, the biggest problem is I'm just not going at painting miniatures yet.

I got done with my second miniature, and it looks better than the first. Still I need to get a lot better at them.

I did some studying and I think the next one I will control my washes and layering better. After reading several tutorials I think I have a better grasp on them. I will also start on miniatures that large sized.

Why is it my players never appreciate it when I throw them a bone? o-O Ok, so it just happened to be the childe (childe is the term for the person a vampire makes into a vampire) of the big bad ass guy who will stomp everyone from the face of the earth if they fail at their mission (i.e. Tremere, the head of House Tremere). Sigh...players.

Does who turns somebody into a vampire have any baring in how the turned person turns out in that setting? Does it matter if a super powerful vampire is the one to do it rather than some regular vampire?

On a note about the miniatures. I'm on my third one. It's a normal sized one, and I'm taking my time. It's ending up a lot better than the other ones. Now I'm just running out of paint...and money to buy more paint with.

In this game, generation is very important. The lower the generation (the closer to Cain), the more powerful the vampire. In the Dark Ages, there were a lot more 4th generations running around...they were created by the clan founder (each clan has different powers). The childer of the 4th generations are 5th generation, their childer would be 6th and so on. The bigger the number, the weaker they get.

In modern days there's 13th generation and they can go out in the day since their ***** is so diluted. They're also supposed to bring the end of days.

At least there is something your players might be good at then. ;)

At their rate, they're already managing to change the lore of the game. It may not even get to modern days, where the whole Jihad and prophecy about the end (with the weak bloods ie. 13 generation). Hell, at this rate I'm not 100% sure Clan Tremere will be one of the 13 clans in the modern days...LOL.

I was kind of looking forward to getting to modern days too. LOL

With your luck they won't even do it on purpose, they will somehow blunder into destroying the world.

Hey, they did it when I was running Necessary Evil for them. Never managed to get off Plot Point 2 (Savage Worlds settings use a plot point system for a story arch, and you can supplement your own stuff in between), but they did manage to release an ***** cyber clockwork dragon into the world. After that they really didn't need to worry about the ***** invasion going on...

This is amazing. Apparently my group didn't scare Aeryn Walker away. LOL

She may possibly be back next month for another game. ;-)

If she could deal with Anders, Roald, and lets be honest, all the rest of us here, there probably isn't too much that could frighten her anymore.

Still, your group better make really good with the treats and bribes for you in the near future. I'm sure they don't deserve to have Aeryn in their presence.

that's cool. how does your group get along with her?

im supposed to be having my game tomorrow. this is after about a month break. the group is on the brink of a TPK. i wonder if i should go through with it...

It just finally started cooling down here recently after a heat wave. I put off painting miniatures because it was just too uncomfortable. I would sit there and look through my hat that has magnifying glasses that flip down over my eyes, and would try and concentrate as not only looking through the magnification made me dizzy, but sweat was poring over my face. After I botched putting in the eyes of a miniature I put it off doing the painting of them in general so I wouldn't get frustrated.

Hahaha. When the guys found out what she did for a living, as in they had the subject of many conversations (not necessarily her but porn girls in general) about my work sitting in my living room, their faces were priceless.

I warned her up front that my friends/group isn't a hardcore gaming group. They can spend hours avoiding gaming so their characters don't die LOL. Of course, nobody minds sitting around bullshitting for the afternoon/evening because really, gaming is just an excuse to get together and get one of my friends out of the house and away from his 3 ****. ;-)

She really didn't seem to mind all that much, which is good because this group would be miserable for a hardcore gamer that wants to game every minute out of the 4-6 hours.

I had to cancel this Sunday's game. It's currently 28 inside my house and I think we could easily hit the 30s with all the hot air being blown around with 8 people in the living room. :cthulhu:

Hmmm...maybe you should send your players to role-paying bootcamp to get them in line. ;)
