got my 4e starter kit today. gonna examine it and tell you what i think about the sometimes imfamous 4e.
Let us know... I read a blurb about it, and at least at first glance, I didn't like it... 3.5 was pretty cool to me, lots of customization options. 4e seems like everyone is pretty much the same with different "skills". Again, that's just from first blush, but it sounds boring. :2 cents:

In 4e's Defense. It is easy to pick up and a good learning tool due to it's simplicity and ease of play. Something 3.5, and Heaven help you, AD&D don't have.
Also, I will give it this. 4e has the most balanced race selection I've seen.

but im not sure if my human fighter is all that great. i supposed as he levels up, he'll have more abilities and such.
I'm not sure how you're playing, but usually I just do common sense things and don't worry about if my character is optimized to the nth degree, especially if what I'm playing I think is fun and everybody else I play with has the same attitude. A good DM should be able to adjust encounters and challenges to suit the players he has anyhow.
also. do any of you guys know if i have to split my XP with a NPC in a solo campaign?
i have a NPC that keeps surviving and im not sure if im supposed to split them with her or reduce my XP because i have help, or is it you ****, you get that monsters XP?
