The DUCKFACE EPIDEMIC is a reality.
Where did it come from? Why do they do it?
What can we do to stop it?



The other epidemic is the STICKING OUT THE TONGUE epidemic which I believe is a hybrid of the Duckface.

I think that started among insecure girls who don't want to make it seem like they're trying too hard to look hot.

They do the tongue stick out or duckface thing to preempt any mean comments.

Kind of like all the totally NOT dorky or nerdy girls going on about how they're "such a nerd" or "I'm really a dork" when they are telling you about themselves.


A lot of these girls are just insecure.


Now it's just spread to a point where folks don't even know why they are doing it.

Sort of like all those "gangsta" hand signs that were popular way back when. People did the pose at first to look "cool" then to be ironic and finally just because that's what everyone else was doing.
