Donald Trump just 5 years ago supported a single payer health care system in the US. He was pro-choice, he was pro-Hillary and called her "The best secretary of state america has ever had" he funded the democrats to take the house back during the bush years. He is an atheist although now he won't admit it but he did say that he doesn't ask god for forgiveness he just does better, which simply makes sense. He's been pro-gun control forever.

So what exactly is it that the right thinks they're gonna get for president if he were to win? We would be at war with everyone everywhere. He said "No one does the military better than me!" as if he's ever had anything to do with the military lol he was a draft dodger lol

Bruce Bartlett Says Trump is the Answer

I don't know if you have seen this piece written by Bruce Bartlett....a lifelong republican who worked for Reagan and also GW Bush.

He says Trump needs to be the nominee so he can get crushed in the general election to give the party back to the GOP and kill off the tea party. He compares it to what happened when Barry Goldwater, a libertarian ran and was crushed in 1964. The point being the party wanted to move far right and by doing so needed to see that it doesn't work. So they gave them their ideal guy who went on to be beaten by a landslide. Same would be true for Trump according to Bartlett. He essentially says that they would run Trump and support him knowing he's going to get destroyed so they could then say to the tea party, "well, there you go. We gave you the party like you wanted and your best guy just got crushed. Now go back into the fucking woods where you came from"

Its a really interesting piece of writing.

Barry Goldwater didn't get beat by a landside because he was a libertarian, he lost big because he was <bleeping> crazy about the coldwar/arms race!

thats the point. there was an entire faction that wanted a goldwater type instead of the traditional gop candidate. they got it and got clobbered. then it went back to good ol gop and the new faction went away.
