Does Hillary need to be elected president to stay out of jail?

Given the drip-drip of mounting evidence that Hillary Clinton has violated one or more national security laws, and her declining ratings in the polls, one may wonder why she is still running for president. One answer may be that she needs to run for president in order to stay out of jail.

Remember that the independent counsel law was allowed to expire under Bill Clinton's presidency, because his Democratic administration didn't want it used to uncover his further wrongdoings while in office. The Justice Department can push prosecutions, but the Justice Department is controlled by the president. If Hillary is president, she can easily quash any investigation.

The last major player is the district attorney for the District of Columbia. And guess who appoints him: the president.

Only by being elected president can Hillary quash all the avenues of prosecution against her. Even if the Republicans keep the Congress, she can rely on their tame instincts not to investigate her. That's why it's desperately important to her that she get elected president, or at the very least nominated for president.

If Hillary is elected president, it is easy to see how she can quash investigations. But she can also gain the power to do so merely by being nominated. If she is nominated, and by October it becomes clear that she will lose the election, she can cut a deal with the Democratic Party to allow her candidacy to be replaced with someone like Elizabeth Warren in return for a pardon or a guarantee of non-prosecution. Does this sound far-fetched? It shouldn't, because that's exactly the deal Richard Nixon made with Gerald Ford.

It's even remotely possible that Obama himself is orchestrating this drip-drip of leaks to make this possible. We keep hearing new stories of "x emails found to have classified information." Where are these leaks coming from? Republicans? They don't know anything. Only the Justice Department does, and that is controlled by Obama.

The leaks must be coming from one of Obama's people. We know Obama doesn't love Hillary. Is it out of the realm of possibility that he is orchestrating things so incriminating evidence comes out after she is nominated, so she will be forced to drop out and be replaced by another candidate? (Never mind the legality of it – Democrats are always allowed to ignore election deadlines when it suits them.)

What do you think? Do you think Hillary is facing a choice between the White House and jail? What do you think her address will be a year and a half from now?

She should have just jumped on her broom and flew off into the sunset. I really loathe the fact that a majority of Democrats are rallying behind her particularly when Bernie Sanders is offering a better alternative. If the GOP pushes another Bush through the primaries and cackling Hillary isn't indicted, I'm not voting.

I don't believe she will have much of a choice in the matter. I have a different perspective on her possible legal issues. The argument that she could receive special treatment doesn't hold water with me. If she is indicted a plea should be offered. I do not want to see a former First Lady incarcerated. It is not good for the country. Just go away and take your husband with you.

I disagree. I think if she gets indicted and convicted or pleads out, that she should face some time in the slam to let her and every other self-entitled POS like her that laws are for everyone, not just the peons.

I agree. We let Nixon off the hook, and although he wasn't the first crooked politician, he was the one that I personally believe set the tone for getting away with whatever they wanted, and flipping off the American public, while they do it.

I know plenty of people that agree with you

She should go to trial right after Bush and Cheney have gotten their sentence on those war crimes. They count a LOT heavier, you know.

Deal?

Something I didn't know about Hillary:

In 1974 Hillary participated in the Watergate inquiry into the possible impeachment of Pres. Richard M. Nixon. When her assignment ended with Nixon’s resignation in August 1974, she made what some people consider the crucial decision of her life—she moved to Arkansas.

Maybe she made notes on how not to get caught.

I doubt it. Every shady fucking thing she's done or been accused of has come to light. She's not good at not getting caught. She's good at avoiding responsibility for her action.

Did anyone else see Huma Abedeen (sic) claim that Chuck Grassley tarnished her reputation? It's not like she married Carlos Danger or worked for the most corrupt female politician in US history or nothing.

Who's more corrupt, Hillary or Nixon? Try and be objective if that's possible for you

The liberal media is what is protecting her. They refuse to accept the fact that one of their heros is violating the law...once again.

I didn't realize Richard Nixon was a woman.

Typical conservative response. Liberal media? Where have you been the last 20 years? The media and the Clintons have never seen eye to eye. Whitewater, Vince Foster, Monica Lewinsky scandal, I can go on and on

I believe that Hillary is such a corrupt character that I actually heard myself say, "Joe Biden might run? That is a good thing."

smoknn Nostradamus << i predict hillary clinton will drop out before the election. by the time they dig all the trash on her...she wont be able to win a bingo game.................
