I wouldn't say that I support her and I wouldn't say that I'm against her. Being something of a social libertarian, I'm for people being able to do what they want to do, as long as they're not harming others... and as long as they are prepared to deal with whatever the consequences are. But I do become extremely annoyed with people who have a tendency to play the victim card. The only issue I have with this girl is her tendency to make inconsistent and/or hypocritical statements. As Sabrina touched on, she's basically still a kid. She's a smart (academically) kid, but still a kid. And part of being a kid is that you are often naive in the ways of the world. I don't think her inconsistent statements mean that she's a bad person or undeserving of anyone's support. But a kid who says that if not for the high cost of college, she wouldn't be doing porn - and then she *claims* that she had a full scholarship to another (very good) school... well, I just wouldn't put a lot of faith in what she's saying or doing being extremely well thought out at this point. But sure, I hope things work out for her, just as I hope things work out for any kid going to school and (hopefully) maturing as they go through that experience.
As for her personal situation... she's in an industry that is based on putting bodies on the line. And like Bob said, why would a porn producer put a quarter of a million dollars of his own money into this girl's education??? Where is the return for the producer or studio? As long as she's popular, they'll pay her a higher rate and the increase in sales volume is how they'll make their money. If/when she's no longer popular, they'll just pick one of the other 50 girls standing behind her who look just like her. Ask Sabrina. She knows this business as well as or better than anyone here. Is the porn industry altruistic and long term or based on producing the most immediate profits possible, Sabrina?
"Belle" has already said that she's doing porn only to pay for her education. It's not as if the producer/company would be paying for her MBA with the expectation that she's going to be working for that company (or even in that industry) for the next 4-6 years, and that will lead to a return on the investment. It's naive to think that business people (and porn is a business like all others in many respects) give away their money simply because it's the noble or cool thing to do. Bill Gates and others do that, but that's being done as a charitable initiative. Floating money to pay for Duke, when the person in question (apparently) had a full ride to Vanderbilt, would be rather foolish, IMO. She made the choice to go to one good school (and pay for it) over another good school (and have it paid for). I do hope that it works out for her. But no, she's most certainly not an example of what kids have to do because of the high costs of education in the U.S.
