I've read a little bit of his one book. I forget what one it was. Never watched his show. I hear his radio show commercials when I am listening to Boortz.

To be fair, I finally checked out a Beck program (today)...

He asks his audience,
"How many of you believe the Soviet Union was a failed state?"
Nobody raised their hands

"How many of you believe the Soviet Union just couldn't sustain its economy?"
Maybe 1 guy raised his hand

"How many of you believe the Soviet Union was EVIL?"
Nearly everyone raised their hands and clearly this was the 'right' answer by Beck - he then went on a tangent on Putin and how he is EVIL and demonic, and drumming up tired 1950 'anti-communist' rhetoric

Oh, brother... His show was a lamesauce attempt at being a 'lecture' with a bunch of dopey kids as the audience. He is preying upon the ignorance of people, while appealing to their insecurity (of intelligence) by framing it as a position of 'enlightened' education. The rest of the program is about disqualifying "separation of church and state" and the assertion that America is supposed to be a christian nation.

Gawd, just puddings of stupid...I see where he is going with this schtick.

I'm pretty much indifferent to his existence to be honest. When he first became "popular" within the wider media I had stronger opinions on the man but as time has worn on he has slowly drifted off of my radar. So much so that the only time he really exists is if someone mentions his name in polite conversation or starts threads about him on popular internet pornography based message boards - of which I am a member (obviously). I'm sure if I lived in the US where his presence is far more apparent in my daily life my feelings on the matter might be stronger. But here, tucked up tight within the confines of my socialist paradise he means nothing to me.

But, just for the sake of continuity and for the hell of it I might as well say: I hope he gets impaled ass first on an iron pole!!!

There.

I believe that the rise in Beck's popularity has coincided with the stupidification of America. We are a nation of dumbfucks willing to believe purty words spoken by some purty manipulative white boy.

Unfortunately it's a trend sweeping many industralized western nations. Scarey days ahead.

He's eccentric, I will give him that. I don't despise the guy though. He's simply a more blatant propagandist than others, perhaps a tad delusional.

To put in in a simple phrase, I'd say he's the diet Hitler.

No. He's a fake Mormon who sells manufactured fear wholesale. He's a NeoCon who calls himself a Libertarian. A suppose Ayn Rand devotee who preaches about the importance of charity.

If Fox Newsers want to see legit Libertarian ideas, they can watch Stossel or Napalitano. Then they might learn something.

Ya I haven't heard to much of him but I think I can say I don't like him much. I think I'll pass on listening to more based on so many others statements about him on listening to anymore. I think he has some things that might be alright but he seems nuts.

No. He is a media whore and all - round windbag that specializes in making mountains out of molehills. I personally don't think he actually believes anything he says(again, whore) but he's got to pander to the types that actually think that anything on FOXNews is really news, you know...morons.

Good to see the members here are voting 4 to 1 that they dislike Beck.He really pissed me off with his BS thing in DC on the anniversery of MLK's speech this weekend.Invoking the name of MLK and saying he wants to reclaim the civil rights movement is just too much, too bad a good sniper wasn't there.:violent:

I like Beck's sidekick / fill in Pat Grey much better . . . is that his name? I think I got that right.:o
You'll have to excuse me, the only time I hear the show is when I happen to be out on the road which isn't every day.

In order to become popular and successful in the field of political commentary, (and many other professions that put you in the public eye) one must successfully incorporate a healthy dose of show business into their act. . . . apparently, Beck has done just that as he has certainly found a niche.

BTW . . .Anybody like the Schnitt Show? ;)
The guy is pretty damned objective, He does lean conservative - pro business, but he's not one of those haranguing ideological loyalists who broad brushes all democrats as being the devil, nor does he maintain that all conservatives are as pure as the wind driven snow.

All in all, Schnitt is an equal opportunity basher and that's a refreshing change of pace if you ask me. :D
