Do you gamble?

So I was recently hired on as a slot host for a new casino that is opening up here in Cincinnati.. I've been training all week and I have learned so much about gambling!
Like they have high limit machines that every spin is 500 dollars.. That's insane to me..

Anyways my question is, Do you gamble? If so is it table games or slots and what's the best you've ever won or the most you've ever lost?

:D

not really.

i love vegas, practically grew up there, but gambling never appealed to me. funny enough, certain members of my family have very recently discovered the local casinos around here and are hooked. its pretty awful.

when im in vegas, you'll find me in the arcade at circus circus. ill sit at a keno machine for some free beers but its not my thing.

if i do play, i play video keno. though deuces wild is also a fun game. pointless, but fun.

I gamble at least twice a month, maybe 10 times at the most, depends on the flow! But the High Limit machines actually have better odds of winning so thats where I like to be, screw the little penny machines ain't no body got time 4 dat! :D But I like the common slots like Lucky 7's or red hot 7's but only if its $1 and up, The $10 machines has always done well for me :yesyes: And my biggest win was 3,000 so far and I've only been gambling for about 2 years now, I guess it pays to do research about it.

No I dont gamble, 99% of the people never win in the long run.

i do the bets for fun because it's obvious all football is under the control of the betting companies, check their sponsors.

The nearest casino is in Shreveport/Bossier City and I don't get over there but once every couple of years or so. My parents lost a small fortune over the last twenty years "on the boats", so I tend to play small when I go. Blackjack, Texas Hold 'Em, and slots are what I typically play. I'm pretty good at blackjack.

Rarely, but when I do I always have a set budget and I very rarely stray from the blackjack table since its basically the only one where you have a Chance of coming out on top. A very small Chance, but a Chance none the less.

Blackjack is more of a calculated risk if you know what you're doing. For example, if you're in the middle of a shoe and there's been more than six hands without a blackjack the next one that comes up go all in on the next hand. Odds are with you that you'll get back-to-back blackjack's. I used this strategy to get back all the money, plus some, that the wife had lost on slots.

Hardly. Whenever I'm in a gambling-type place I play Pai Gow Poker. It's a slow, relatively low-risk game where bets last a bit longer because the odds are petty even for everyone. Whenever I do gamble, though, I pick a set amount that I'm willing to lose, usually $20 bucks, and never take my wallet out again once that money's gone.

I tend to go out on a win about 70% of the time, which isnt to bad from what I could tell. And yeah, blackjack is one of the few games out there where you can actually come out ahead if you know what you´re doing and haven´t been too heavy on the sauce.

And I´m not sure if it counts as gambling, but me and my friends used to have pokernights, where we put down the equivalent of about $100 and whoever won had to buy all the drinks. :)

I don't gamble with the exception of when I went to Vegas two summers ago.

I only played the slots, and by slots I mean one slot machine in particular. My strategy was simple, once I got ahead I would take the profit and go.
I put $20 in, dropped down to $17, won $30 back and cashed out at $47.

I liked watching other people play mind you. Especially at the card tables. It was almost like what you see on TV, just much less dramatic.

And no, I don't gamble. Except for an occasional lotto ticket.

It's not gambling if you know you're gonna win.

I'll bet on 2 roaches running up a wall. Mind you, I'm not a degenerate gambler, (Sam, keep your mouth shut) Its my entertainment. I don't go to clubs or movies or take elaborate vacations. I only bring as much as I am willing to lose. Make my money last as long as I plan to be there and never ever leave empty. The bus stations are filled with people that come down with 40 bucks waiting 3 hours for the next one home. That's bull shit. If you aren't having fun or making money then you shouldn't be doing it.

Horses are my favorite fun. Crunch numbers in my head for 20 minutes and when I win I feel smart. Plus I get odds. Blackjack is an even money game and boring. Dice is fun. You can win a lot of money really fast and lose a lot of money really fast. Only sometimes will I have the stomach for that. Roulette is cool. Probably the biggest house advantage but spreading the money out on an area that runs hot can be very lucrative. 2-4 limit Texas is great. $80 at the table can last me 4 hours. Not hard to read half the players at the table with the low stakes. I don't play bad cards to chase straights or flushes. Most times I come out a winner after a session. Lots of free drinks too.
