I don't know what Daylight Savings Time is.

Doesn't feed trolls and would appreciate it if you
Well, do you?
I wouldn't say I 'hate' it, but...

No, I love it. And, after several very thorough studies, it turns out that it saves millions, perhaps hundreds of million dollars, in energy costs to folks in America. Fewer lights on, less heat needed while the sun is still up, fewer accidents on the ride home because it's lighter, and on it goes. There's a huge list of such things, and the numbers, but I'm in a very lazy mood, and google is too much work right now.

Additionally, I'm a very social creature, and I very often have people here for dinner. The living spaces in my house are awesome in afternoon and evening sun, both for entertaining, and for laying in a sunny spot with a book.
They've also proven that the toll it takes on peoples' health is tremendous. The day after DST takes effect, the number of people admitted to hospitals for heart attacks increases dramatically. But we're all fat, lazy bastards here in American anyway.
What's the problem with DST? I'd much rather have the sun up when I am awake than when I'm asleep.
Exactly, exactly, exactly...which is why I don't understand why we don't simply leave the clocks forward so we get more afternoon daylight, especially in the winter. On top of these studies, there's another that shows kids are healthier with more hours of daylight in the afternoon (more time to play outside!).

It seems the only disadvantage is the folk who complain about having to get up in the dark. Well, I'll complain just as loudly about having to go home from work in the dark!

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
I re-adjusted my clocks and pc last night.
Woke up today and my computer has adjusted itself; so it is now an hour fast

It fucking sucks! And everyone knows all the energy savings and everything that was the idea of this adjustment is wrong and bullshit. It doesn't save shit on energy. It doesn't bring ANYTHING good. But people/governments are too lazy to change it so we just keep this adjusting bullshit...

tartanterrier

Is somewhere outhere.
It would only be good if I worked during the weekends especially when the clocks go back, you get an extra hour in bed.

But for me waking up late felt good today - I have to admit :)

I don't like having to get my body clock used to it, but other than that I like it. I wish they kept it as Daylight Savings Time all the time so I wouldn't have to get used to the change.

I hate when they take daylight savings off. I wish they would just leave it on all year so we have more daylight in the evenings. I never got why they take an hour away when its already getting dark earlier!!

Exactly! I'd much rather darkness earlier in the morning than within an hour of getting home from work. I blame the farmers, they are always worried it's gonna confuse the cows lol

Also, just tell me to fuck off. You just get a lot less sunlight than we do. Farting around with when you get to enjoy it will have a larger impact there than here.

Have a drink on me!

You are completely wrong. It actually costs more because it truely affects the summer months. People's homes are hotter in the afternoon and having it light later at in the evening causes people to have to run their air conditioning longer to cool down and fight a strong heat. Also switching times has been found to increase medical bills due to people being sick easier because it takes 2-3 months to change a persons internal clock. With it beig so much shorter time o adjust for the winter change of time people are more susceptible to infections and the effects of day light savings. I live in Indiana and we just went to day light savings 3 years ago and it is horrible. Worst thing ever.

daylight savings time is like making your blanket longer by cutting a foot off the bottom end and sewing it on the top.
