He's talking about the ones from the USA.
Why? Many Native American groupings cross borders, such as the Uto-Aztecan group (which includes groups like the Ute, Aztecs, Yaquis and Kawaiisu) who live in the US and in Mexico. Likewise, you have groups that have a homeland that crosses the Canada border.
In Bolivia and Peru they're the majority.
Yep, and in places like Mexico Native American ancestry is 90% (80% Mestizo (mixed with Europeans) and 10% fully Amerindian... though some of the mestizos could actually be fully, because you count them as mestizos if they live in a mestizo society and have given up purely native lifestyles).
Many in the US seem unaware of this, probably because it is not publicized much due to the unfortunate implications regarding immigration debates.
