Disrespect for the Porn Industry?

Kinda a weird thread but I have been noticing a lot of posts on the forums that don't show much respect for the porn industry or the girls involved in the industry.

Its weird that so many people on here spend so much time in their lives looking at some type of pornographic materiel yet you see so many comments stating that "certain girls shouldn't do porn because their too pretty" or "you wouldn't want your wife or daughter to be a porn star" or "porn stars are just all mindless slut"

Just seems like a lot of Disrespect for the whole subject yet ironic because you would think on a site like this there would be plenty of respect and support.

I personally have a lot of respect for the people involved in the porn industry for many reasons for instance. They get so much ridicule from so many people but still do what their passion is. They are comfortable enough with themselves to show their bodies to the world. 90% enjoy their job and they teach us a lot when we are young about sex

Those are just a few reason but I am curious to see what everyone else thinks

I wouldn't say "respect."

They can do what they want, because that is their right.
It's not like the majority of people aren't having sex with someone they aren't married to and with multiple partners.

So, they are better because they do their thing behind closed doors and not in front of a camera?

I think not, people like that who say things about porn and others are nothing more than hypocrites.

But, I still wouldn't want my wife, daughter, or son in porn.

People in porn are, to me, more honest about their insatiable need for attention based upon their physical and sexual prowess than those who performers in nonadult movies.

Like Will E Worm, I would not call it "respect". I used to. These days, I just believe that too many, during sex, keep pushing their own boundaries just for money for me to respect them. Anything that one does that makes them feel and be successful should, in my opinion, also make them feel secure enough to not be greedy.

I have no specific examples, unfortunately.

I don't think that I could marry or date a pornstar either. Too insecure too accept her having sex with another, but saying she wants to be my wife.

My children, when I have them, should do what makes them happy. I just hope that it's a career with more security in all life's aspects, from financially to medically to beyond, than porn may offer..

Not really. I believe people can do as they choose.
I'd rather my children and wife be creative.

As in writers and artists or both.
I like creativity. I don't like people who go after a certain career just because it pays well.

I think a lot of people go after a porn career because they enjoy it more then it pays well. From what I here it doesnt pay that well anyway for most

I said too Pretty and was referring to someone I dont wanna name that mentioned in a thread that some girls are to pretty and should stop doing porn and give them a chance to date them. I dont really see why they cant do porn and you have a chance and why they cant be really pretty and be in porn

the girls should be treated with an incredible respect and we should support the people behind the scenes who do respect the girls as well. they are people just you and me who just happened to be sexually comfortable with themselves like some of you guys and myself, only difference is, they arent camera shy. so why shouldnt we respect them?

they are providing us with the things we want to see, its entertainment, the very zenith of entertainment we all crave deep inside. you have to give it up to them for jumping in with 2 feet and saying, im going to do this shit and have fun.

It would be very hypocritical of me to say that I disrespect and disapprove porn, given the fact that I watch it every day. Still, I can't say that I feel respect either. I watch it - and jerk off on it - only in order to satisfy very basic and animalistic needs. It's a big part of my life, though. It's hard to say which of it I feel, but I voted for respect, because all in all I'm positive towards porn.

Honestly? It depends on the nature of the porn.

I think there's a lot of stuff out there in the industry that the girls do which I'm sure they're going to regret. There are stars nowadays who are winning AVN awards for drinking urine off dirty floors at the tender age of 20. Really. I respect that people have the right to do what they wish with their own lives, but I definitely can't respect the actual activities some of them engage in.

Now, when it comes to nudity in the style of Met Art or perhaps even some FTV, then no, I don't see that the girls are doing anything wrong. That doesn't immediately afford respect, but it certainly doesn't make me think less of them.

Why should I respect someone just for doing their job? I don't respect the guy that mops up the vomit at the county fair.

Also since that "job" consists of doing no actual work, and is in general grossly overpaid for most of the people involved, if you could make such a statement a pornographer/actor would be pretty low on the list of respectable postions, several spots below the guys that sell oranges by the side of the freeway.

Which is not to say that I have anything against the industry, or the few people that I know who are involved with it, most of whom I respect for being cool people in general.

I don't think it's about disrespect. It's about the reality of what porn actually is, the real reasons people get into porn, what they have to do to stay in it and reasons many can't escape it.:yinyang:

I respect everybody equally, until they do something to lose it. Personally, I don't lose respect for people who decide to have a career in the pornography industry. Just because I think someone is slutty doesn't mean that I disrespect them as a person.

As far as not offering praise or worship to people in the porn industry, even though I am a member here on a porn forum...it has nothing to do with disrespect. I don't agree with the lifestyle or the actions involved with it, but I don't disrespect people in the industry in any way, shape or form.

Just because I look at porn from time to time, doesn't mean that I condone that sort of lifestyle or would encourage anyone to live such a life. For example...

I drink a lot. Drinking alcohol is something that I do quite frequently, but, I would never encourage others to pick up my sort of lifestyle. Just because I choose to pick up a drink every now and then (mostly now), that doesn't mean I think this sort of lifestyle is a good one.

I don't really respect them, no. Like most people in the world, they haven't really done anything to earn my respect. I've got no particular problem with their career choice though. They can do whatever they want as long as I don't have to be involved.
