Diablo 3

After many moons of speculation about D3, the plot of Blizzard's new chapter of Diablo has now been posted online.

There's no real mention of whether this is coming to consoles or PC's, who's going to release it Blizzard or Vivendi Universal, but this is a game worth getting excited about!

there has been 0 real talk from blizzard about a diablo 3. I personally wish they'd make like a world of diablo hehe that'd be fun. I wouldn't expect another diablo though, if they do make another, for a few years.

Yup. With them working on Starcraft 2 and the new WoW expansion, I would plan on seeing it anytime soon. But I do hope they plan on releasing another Diablo.

I have a feeling they're going to pull a starcraft, first of all they're going to want a great story, so they're going to take the time to either find a way to intertwine diablo 2 and 3, or have a whole new system.

If they take off from right after diablo 2, it will leave open a lot of options for a massive multiplayer much like world of warcraft, still giving it the creativity options of adding in new material. If they go straight into another idea and leave the basics of 1 and 2 behind then they'll have a harder time going into a mmp.

I believe blizzard knows that if they released a 'world of diablo' type game, it would destroy WoW. So they're taking their time. Also, as they wait and progress as far as the story goes, they also get technology on their side. Lots of reasons for them to take it steady. I mean they're making over 100mil/month on wow, so why stop ?

Starcraft 2 is for sure going to come first. However, I'd love to see a Diablo 3. I'd play it for sure, I've logged many hours in the first two games. I agree with what you guys are saying though. If they go a totally new direction it's going to take a lot more time. And if they were to go "World of Diablo" style, it would cut into their profits on WoW. If they decide to do it though, good on them...

One thing I wondered about was according to the story of D3, Mount Arreat explodes after the destruction of the Worldstone. Does your D2 character survive that? Have you slogged through all that only to be killed in an explosion?

I loved this on the pc up until the release of that last patch that shifted all the monsters around, made the game to challenging after that, just enough to really suck the fun out it. Id hope this stay a pc only game, my rig wouldnt handle it most likely, but having tried Command and Conquer on the 360 i was really let down by the mouse to pad change and find it incredibly difficult to cope with.

don't give up hope, i know C&C was hard for me on the controller but they have come along way since then, try the demo for halo wars on the 360 and that works brill on a controller, still prefer mouse and keyboard but it a good start in the right direction for controller !!
