*lol*
That 12th district outcome is another sign of the degree to which Trump's grip has slipped since 2016.
Balderson held on by less than 1% in a district that's been red for decades.
A district Trump won by 11%
Then the ego-in-chief bragged to everyone about how he personally saved Balderson from sure defeat by speaking in Ohio when in fact the race was being projected as too close to call before Trump arrived there :1orglaugh
At the rate the numbers are shifting this one seems likely to turn blue in November.
You'd have to be delusional to say the Democrats are a lock to win the midterms. You'd think after 2016 people would learn their lesson. Right now as it stands it's 50-50 the Dems take the House. The polls are constantly changing. One week they're up double digits, the next week it's down to single digits, rinse and repeat. IMO liberals are way to overconfident and it's that type of hubris that could lead them to blowing a golden opportunity. As someone who's followed liberal politics I can tell you that the Democrats have a history of fucking things up and it would not at all surprise me if they fuck up the 2018 midterms. Part of me would like them to lose just so that we can move on from dinosaurs and corporatists like Pelosi and Schumer, bring in fresh faces and put forward a true progressive platform
