David Bowie has passed away

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TheWhiteDevil again.

:coolthumb:.............how come we don't have a smilie rockin' out on a guitar? That seems a tad screwed up, considering how many music threads we start...sadly because we want to pay respects, but still, we need one or two.

David released a music video in the latter stages of his illness. Laying in bed, singing like he is in agony and a scarf wrapped around his head with holes cut out for his eyes. I wish I hadn't seen it. It is creepy, I prefer to remember him as Ziggy or the China Girl era. It had a feel like Johnny Cash's Hurt video but Johnny's was sad not creepy although dark.

Bowie sought to shock, right until the end.

I wasn't a personal fan of Bowie but compared to pop music over the last 15 years, I know which I would much rather listen to. RIP.

Since there are too many Under Pressure here, I will remember David Bowie by Dancin' in the Street. Let's Dance (see what I did there :p)! What made him a legend will be with us forever :yesyes:

The video for his song Lazarus is haunting. I really wish I could unsee it. Macabre, beautiful, disturbing , depressing all in one package. He's even imitating Jimmy Fallon's Thank You Notes skit.

That guy really knew how to turn out the light and leave.

Lest you all forget.... Before Bowie, before Cobain.

You had Lynyrd Skynyrd ..

Yes, he and his wife were friends with Rosie O'Donnell. How you like him now?

Here's the difference: Lynyrd Skynyrd's was unintentional

And if I'm not mistaken, a better example would have been Warren Zevon. There was a song on his last album, that sure as hell sounded like a goodbye, to me....made me fuckin cry, as a matter of fact. And his appearance on Lettermen....great quote, and words to live by. "Enjoy every sandwich", because you never know which one will be the last. Also, that song I told you to listen to, with Bonnie Raite. It's from an album, of the same name.
