Cristiano Ronaldo is the best of the world?

a lot of people says that he's right now the best player in the world.

i strongly disagree with that.
why? you can watch the Champions final and see that he got scared when his team most needed him. a pussy-like performance. also, he has GREAT teammates who help him a lot. that is: he wouldn't be that better in any other team. specially outside the UK.

what do you people think?

either way, i see him as the next david beckham. that is a young punk that starts out strong (what american baseball would call rookie of the year) but who is too cocky and his career performance doesn't live up to the hype.

I think that he definitely has some good technique, dribbling etc. And it is impossible to argue with that.

But his personal qualities sucks a lot, and thats why I do not like him: a lot of simulations, dirty tricks on the sly, a lot of appeals to the referee, a lot of show off on the pitch and obvious star sickness. Of course, many of those qualities can be applied to any of the football players, but in his case degree is much higher than an average level.
Is he a dough-face? Not so sure about it, though it can be true: when the shit runs smoothly, he is cool and kicking asses. But when the shit is little bit fucked up, he can't stand the stress. Under pressure it is always harder to remain cool motherfucker.


By the way, it is kinda distinctive feature of portugese football. I do not know why, but their national team as well as many clubs often stand out with the behaviour like that.

Keeping all that in mind I think that his own temper is disturbing him from being a better player.

Who is the best in the world? I do not know. It is always hard for me to choose one and only best in any contest. Whether it would be the best pornstar, best music or best player. There is always a certain amount of the names that are "on top" and it is difficult to decide who is the most cool.

But I am sure that Ronaldo is not the best. Though, I must confess, that he is very good player. With bad disposition.

I agree with you, a very talented player yes, but Messi and Ronaldinho are better as far as I'm concerned. The world's greatest would easily put penalties away when needed. Plus he has be prove himself for his country, Portugal and win trophies.

Because PKs are such a crucial part of Ronaldo's game...he does have a higher standard than most superstars. His chokejob in the CL is even worse than John Terry's in my opinion...Terry clearly slipped. Ronaldo tried a completely illegal PK and still fucked up horribly. Than he did himself and his nation a disservice by crying like a baby in the center circle afterwards. What a little b*tch.

He is a phenomenally talented player. His antics ruin him for me. Kaka, Henry, Messi, Cesc, Ballack...none of these players dive, show up an opponent, fake injury as often as Ronaldo does...

Christian Ronaldo is a Portuguese superstar playing for Man U. He's also the much younger player.

I'm a Liverpool fan so it pains me to praise any United player, especially a snivelling little primadonna like Ronaldo, but he really is an exceptional player.

He's scored +40 goals this season. For a striker, that counts as a highly successful season, but for a midfielder, it's fucking incredible! Roughly a quarter of those goals have been in Europe, and the rest in the toughest league in the world. By tough, I don't simply mean the highest standard, but also the most physical. For all his dramatics, he's quick, his technical prowess is among the best, and this season, he's shown himself to be stronger than his somewhat weedy appearance would suggest.

Ronaldo is not the sort of player who simply finishes while the rest of his team creates opportunities for him either. He didn't have the best of games in the final, but it doesn't make sense to dismiss him on this single performance alone. He's proved himself consistently over a long period, and the frightening thing about him is that he's getting better all the time.

he's very talented... if he wasn't on Manchester squad they wouldn't win the UCL for sure... they won mostly because of his talent!

he's one of the best players out there now... but when FIFA announces the best of 2008 in the end of the year it might be him if he plays a good Euro 2008... I think that the player who stands out in Euro will battle with C.R. for best soccer player of 2008.
