Crackdown 2

So whats the deal Xbox fans, is it as bad as the reviews are saying? Thats an xbox360 exclusive and there's never an excuse for dropping the ball on a platform exclusive.....what happened?

Premium Link Upgrade

current meta score of 71. i haven't played it, myself, so i don't know if its good or bad or anything in between ...but there's around 17 reviews that are 80% or higher. that's not too bad, i guess.

it might not be a 'triple A' title ...but it looks like its probably decent enough.

if i ever buy it, i'll wait to do so when its cheaper. its currently $69 new, and i'm not going near it for that price.

just out of curiosity, tho ...what happened when sony dropped the ball on ps3 exclusives like :

Haze

meta score of 55

Premium Link Upgrade

Lair

meta score of 53

Premium Link Upgrade

SOCOM Confrontation

meta score of 63

Premium Link Upgrade confrontation

White Knight Chronicles

meta score of 64

Premium Link Upgrade knight chronicles

that's just a few ps3 exclusives that weren't that well received. there's a few more that didn't do too well either.

i wonder what sony's excuse was there, tho?

ya win some, ya lose some, i guess.

I wouldn't exactly expect Crackdown to be a blockbuster.

The sites and mags that gave crackdown 2 a good score are the rinky dink ones that no one knows and are paid to up the score. The sites and mags that matter,IGN,gamespot,Gameinformer etc all scored it very low....

I wouldn't exactly expect Crackdown to be a blockbuster.

The first game kinda had a cult following....I personally **** cell shaded games. Im hearing that the sequel's graphics are actually worse then the first one and there's frame rate troubles all over the place.

Unexceptable tech issues for an exclusive. I don't care what system its on...

I played the demo and it feels and looks a lot like the original. I was looking forward to this title and didn't realize it wasn't on my gameq. I don't care what the reviews say I still wanna play it and expect it to be as much fun as the first one was.

The reviews basically say that it's the exact same as the original which is good if you just want more Crackdown but not good if you expected it to take the game to another level like most sequels do.

I loved the first so I'll get 2, I'll just wait for the price to drop.

What the first game had was a bunch of Halo fans getting the game solely to participate in the Halo 3 Beta. Sales of the game after the Beta ended dropped nearly 90%, and they weren't that impressive to begin with. The people who really enjoyed the game were very much in the minority, and the first suffered from a ton of frame rate issues, graphical glitches, and inexplicable freezes. IGN even said in their review of the game that it would be tough for the game to sell in the first place without the inclusion of the Halo 3 Beta.

I forgot about the inclusion of the Halo beta.....Thats all I had was a 360 at the time of crackdown 1's launch but paid no attention to the game. The only cell shaded game I ever liked was Borderlands...

I don't have a 360,but if I did,I wouldn't bother with this game. From what it looks like on the commercial,it looks not good at all.

But I don't have a 360,so I guess my opinion really doesn't matter.

Sales-wise, most gamers would agree with you, as Borderlands outsold Crackdown in about a month and a half.

If your looking at it to be a blockbuster then you'll be dissapointed, but if your looking at it as an excuse to hookup with 3 other friends for 4 player co-op that involves massive explosions, insane freak (zombies basically) *******, moments of hilarity (passing cars back and forth in a game of pseudo-tennis over a wall with uv shotguns), and is just a blast to play with all the odd discoveries, then you'll like the game.

Yes, there are graphical glitches, what game nowadays gets released without them? But fuck it's a fun game anyways...

I got it and love it. It does feel like a DLC related Crackdown add-on, but still a real fun game to play because of the new co-op business and multiplayer.

In Crackdown 3 they'll most certainly get a new city.
