Does anyone else here in the forum have a cordless mouse? The red light on mine is flashing, and I'm wondering if it's time to change the batteries or what.
I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever understand why somebody would spend money on a cordless mouse or keyboard. How far away from your computer monitor are you reeeeeally going to go? Seriously, unless you have a 60" monitor, you're sitting no more than a foot or two away from your computer. No need for a cordless anything.
I kept wearing those out.You have to use batteries? Time to get a mouse with a cord.![]()
Sorry about that, Maleonetwo. This what I use, but it doesn't show the battery cover. I can't get the f'ing cover off to replace the batteries.

OK, so maybe you want to get up and walk around with your keyboard, keep getting the mouse cord tangled up when you are gaming... but you know the most useless cordless device? the wireless printer. why the hell would you ever need to print something in a different room than your computer?
but if you were using a wireless printer, you'd still have to have the computer on that was routed to the printer, it doesn't make a difference if it's wireless in that case... unless you had all your computers routed to the printer, which would be the same again as having them all on a network. In fact it would be really dumb to have them only routed to the printer, but not networked to each other since it would take the same amount of effort and be a lot more effective. Most people that have multiple computers have them networked for that very reason, why wouldn't you?If you have several computers, and try to print, you have to have the one hardwired to the printer turned on unless you use a network printer.
In example, if you sit outside with a laptop, and want to print, you have to go back in and turn on the PC controlling the printer. Otherwise, only the printer needs to be on.
I did, the flashing red light is now a green non-flashing light.Change the batteries. flashing stops.

Rtfm!
Ok, so I can kind of see the point of having all this stuff for a laptop, but it's kind of stupid. the whole point of a laptop is that it's not connected to any other hardware. If you want it to be, then just get a desktop. But I suppose people want to have both in one, so that's why they do it, but it still seems unnecessary to me.
