Evidence of a plot or scheme to overturn the election outcome. They were certainly applying pressure to Pence in order to stall the counting of electoral votes or reject electoral votes from certain states. So, yes, they appear to have been plotting to take over (via overturning an election result) the government.

It was not maniacal by any stretch, but very methodical. They had the legal framework outlined by John Eastman.

Like any discovery motion, they are trying to know what is unknown. Books have provided anecdotal evidence and the framework, now it is time to find real evidence. Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton didn’t just offer up the evidence. It had to be found.

NPR outs the NRA which held their annual meeting in Denver shortly after Columbine. The timing was purely coincidental, but it put a huge damper on the festivities and caused some angst among the leaders.

Even the top ranks of the NRA believes portions of their membership are “hillbillies and idiots,” “nuts,” and “fruitcakes.”

The NRA believes it is a media-created villian - victims if you will. They even considered putting up a $1 million fund for Columbine victims. Of course, they did not do it.
