How many of these people are regular law abiding citizens until the *** they own helps carry them into criminalville? It wasn't the box cutters that scared people, it was the fact the hijackers said they had bombs and most people on the plane probably thought this was just a hostage type of situation. They didn't massacre a whole plane with box cutters.

The whole criminals will only have guns argument doesn't work because the people doing these shootings are regular people who have lost their minds and thus having easy access to guns is a surefire recipe for disaster. Take me for example I'm in Canada and say I snap one day and decide I'm going to off a bunch of people, one problem is that I don't have access to a *** and I don't know anybody who does either so what do I do?

Bottomline, the easier it is to have guns around, the more this kind of **** will continue to happen especially when it's running in the media 24/7 and every suicidal nutjob sees that and decides that if they die they might as well be famous.

You do what most of this spineless pieces of garbage do...you obtain them illegally in the U.S.A., smuggle them back, and do what you wanna do. Chicago Ill. has some of the strictest *** laws in the country, yet their crime rate, involving guns, is one of the highest. Up until lawsuits were filed in Washington D.C., and *** rights restored, they had high crime rates
too.

This act was cowardly, and despicable, an atrocity...but as Mayhem posted, this isn't the only country this kind of thing happens in, and guns aren't the only way people hurt other people.

They effectively gained control of 3 planes using a box cutter, in a *** free zone, which allowed the ****** of thousands. The forth plane fought back, and everyone died, but the true American heroes on that plane saved untold thousands in the process.

How would stricter laws have helped this morning? The dead ****** legally purchased them in the forth most restrictive state. The *** stole them, making him a *** thief, then ****ed his m-m the owner, then the ****.

It is impossible to recall in 290,000,000 firearms.

The magazine capacity doesn't matter. Just carry more mags or more guns.

The hunting (sporting) rifles pack way more power than a military rifle. A hunting rifle is designed to take down a several hundred pound ****** from a distance. A military rifle (223) is designed to seriously wound an enemy at a moderate distance or be lethal at closer range (look up the rem 30 ultra mag or a 338 lapua)

A shotgun with 8 rounds of .30 OO buck would have been more deadly in close quarters.

I am horrified at the tragedy that happened in Connecticut today but I can not believe how many of you are blaming the *** instead of the MAN behind the ***!! The *** did not make this man do what he did, he was a deeply disturbed man with obvious emotional issues with his parents. He could have made a bomb, he could have drove his car through the school playground during recess, or he could've ****ed the *****ren by attacking them with a ***** like the psycho in China today!Story here The *** didn't do this, the man did, if one of those teachers had a *** on them the fatality level would have been much much less. This is overwhelmingly sad but no reason to ****** the second amendment. I believe in background and psychiatric evaluations before somebody can own a ***, I think if people had to have a license to own a *** instead of just to carry one it might make things harder for the crazy people to get ahold of one.. But like I said, if this guy wanted to inflict pain and suffering on people so badly and guns weren't available to him, he would've found some other way to do it.
