Confederations Cup 2005 Germany

Well it is this time of the FIFA footballing calandar when the clubs complain and people seem to bag this comp but it still rolls along.

Who are the favs of the comp? well i would have to say Germany & Argentina would be expected to advance as well as Brazil and Japan but i would never write off the Aussies who will be playing the krauts in 30 hours time, should be a belter of a match. I expect the Aussies to at least walk away with a point this match as we will need all the points we need as Argentina are going to be a challenge.

we have MLS action also kicking off after the games (Argentina v Tunisia is on i think) so should be a great day for football :)

Who cares about kiss ball, the British Lions are in New Zealand and the Kiwi's are going to get a beating :1orglaugh

Argentina have to be the favourites for the Confederatios Cup but I would love it if Australia, Japan or Tunisia caused an upset :)

fark off!!! (jk btw)

i like union also but this is only aboot football, we don't need that in this thread thank you very much.

Argentina 2
Tunisia 1

should be 2 great games for the Aussies 2nite and in a few days time. :)

ok are we talking about rugby here??

i always thought the kiwis were a strong rugby team i saw them beat argentina a few weeks back

meh rugby aint my fortay, i really dont follow it..hell of a game though

not rugby
football as in the world game
www.worldcup.com

has the confed cup on it also

oh ok..well soccer i follow

as for whos gonna win, im goin with brazil

Group A
Australia Oceanian Champ
Germany HOSTS
Argentina Runner up in Copa America
Tunisia African Champ

Group B
Brazil World Cup Holders & Copa America Champ
Greece UEFA Champ
Mexico CONCACAF Champ
Japan ASIAN Champ

Just curious: Is Argentina participating because they were Olympic champions last year or because they were runner-ups in the Copa?

Well because Brazil are world cup winners they instantly qualified but they won the Copa America so that means Argentina were invited to make it 8 teams.

Same with the 2003 comp when France hosted AND were UEFA champs therefore Turkey were invited.

4-3 loss against Germany was an honourable loss but i still want our manager to be sacked! :D

their performances against the Provincial sides could not be called "spectacular"....

There is only one team who can truly tame the All Blacks....

The Australian Wallabys:thumbsup: :)

Apologies to Aegean, Mate I couldn't let this go. ;) I dont know too much about Football/soccer, but I do support our team and watch them when I can

yes Vegas!they are there cos they won the gold metal in the Olympics "here" in Athens!

i hope we (Greece) have a nice time there and if we could pass trough the finals thats ok!!!
after all this cup is a celebration before the World Cup!!!!

I don't think that the Germans will do it (though I'm german) they play to bad against the aussis.
I think Mexico will do it again razil and Argentinia haven't taken there best players with so they will be beaten too.
In my opinion the big looser of the Cup will be greece they aren't good, though they won the European Championship.

the Australians have a great team!!!
the scored 3 times and that prooves their passion for football!!!

you sound a little jealous!!!i guess you know that Oto is one of the best coaches in the world!!!
you had him in your hands and let him go!!!
dont be so sure that we r gonna be the worst in the tournament!!!

ps:
forgot to mention that Greece has been voted for the best team for the year 2004 in all the sports by the reporters all over the world!!!
it s not just luck!!!
