Comedians Who Reek Of Desperation

Harland Williams... I love the guy, but his act is really pathetic and repetitive.

Was King of the Board for a Day
Dane Cook. There can be funny stories and ways of telling funny stories, but he hasn't seemed to master either of these.

Jimmy JJ Walker. He has to be going home every night sucking down a 5th with everyone saying to him,"Didn't you used to be..." I'll bet people driving a forklift make more money than him now.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?

I'd rather shit on my hands and clap than read another of his posts.

Just saw Wanda Sykes on TV all bug-eyed overselling her segment on Today Show.

I'm not trying to defend her, but keep in mind that comedians are used to performing at night, not in the morning (yes, it does make a world of difference). Besides that, comedians' performances on tv shows are usually watered-down compared to what they do on their own stage because hey have to clean things up as well as compress things into the time allowed. I've noticed these things often make their routines less funny.

Kathy Griffin
Sarah Silverman
Jimmy Fallon
Janeane Garofalo
Whoopie Goldberg
Rosie O’Donnell
Roseanne Barr
Patton Oswald
David Cross
Lisa Lampanelli
Susie Essman
Sherri Shepherd
Robin Williams
Ellen DeGeneres
Dane Cook
Jay Leno
Carlos Mencia

I agree with all but Patton. I very strongly agree with the ones I put in bold. I don't think Garofolo or Leno seem desperate. They seem like they don't care about trying to be funny, which would be the other extreme.

Andrew Dice Clay

Saw him twice at Comedy Store on Sunset. First time in his prime. Electric performance, could do no wrong. Again, about 2000, the Ethiopian kid sweeping around the stage was funnier than the Diceman on the stage.

I've seen some bad Wanda Sykes night spots in the last year too.

FreeOnes is full of them. :yesyes:

I went to an open mic night at a bar with some friends a few years ago. There were some people who were funny, and others who weren't, but the star of the night was this guy who completely BOMBED on the stage. He goes up there and is trying to do his routine, but not only is the material dull to begin with, but his delivery made listening to the Pope give mass sound exciting. The cherry on top came when he forgot his schtick and started fumbling through his note cards, with a very awkward silence on the stage, and someone walked past and accidentally knocked his note cards out of his hands. Prior to his cards spilling all over the floor there had been a good two-minute silence while he tried to remember, and then while he looked for his joke, but when he lost his cards he looked up at the guy, who was completely oblivious to what had just happened, and tried to say that he had just fucked up his story that was going so smoothly. At that point one of my friends, who was working on his third Long Island Iced Tea, booed him loudly and told him to get the fuck off the stage. The poor guy was devastated, and almost immediately walked off the stage, and made a beeline for the door. :1orglaugh

Gunslingingbird. Jebus with a bazooka on the West Bank, that guy wants laughs but can't get them.

I don't give two shits from a rat's ass if you guys think I'm funny or not. Actually, if you think I'm funny, you need help.
