Colin Kaepernick’s Latest Stunt Perfectly Demonstrates Why He May Not Play In The NFL Again

On Thursday, it was reported that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the controversial activist who made headlines last year for sitting for the national anthem, thus tanking the NFL’s ratings and causing enough of an uproar for him to be booted out of the league, has decided to jump onto a new cause — protesting President Trump and funding DREAM act activists.

“Colin Kaepernick Foundation has donated to another $100,000 to DREAM, Coalition For The Homeless, War on Children, and United We Dream,” ESPN’s Adam Shefter stated.

Kaepernick’s website also stated that $25,000 would go to organizing illegal aliens who received DREAM act deferrals to go to Washington, D.C. to protest the rescinding of DACA.

The website stated, “10k for upcoming travel. Air, hotel, lodging, and ground transportation. United We Dream recently held event in Washington DC and sent 300 dreamers to lobby to keep DACA. This budget will pay for 75-100 attendees for a similar rally upcoming.”

TheBlaze states that United We Dream is considered the “largest immigrant youth-led organization in the world.”

Still wonder why this guy is considered polarizing?

Despite Kaepernick’s shameless controversies, from sitting for the anthem to wearing socks that depicted police officers as pigs to holding a press conference while wearing a t-shirt depicting the Cuban genocidal Communist Che Guevera, his supporters still target the NFL since no team will sign him, even as teams sign quarterbacks that may have less talent. As the The Daily Wire’s Emily Zanotti reported, Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King has vowed to boycott the NFL until Kaepernick is signed, and is asking others to do the same. King claims, “These white team owners cannot believe that Colin took a stance against injustice in America without their expressed permission and blessing. …”

However, Kaepernick’s critics state the obvious — that no team wants to deal with the bad press and controversy that comes with having a player like that on their roster. And despite King’s active boycott of the NFL, many Americans boycotted the NFL last year because of Kaepernick himself and the fact that despite his actions, he was still employed. In fact, a CBS study showed that ratings went down last year because of Kaepernick’s protests. ESPN reported this as well.

So Shaun King may be waiting a while.

In short, it’s pretty obvious why Kaepernick is unemployed. It has nothing to do with his race. It’s because no one wants to deal with his anti-American antics and his slapping of millions of Americans and NFL fans in the face. Especially his slapping the face of the many great police officers throughout the country.

Good for the NFL, and good riddance to Kaepernick. And best of all, good for the great cops in our country that don’t have to watch him disrespect them for his own selfish antics and attention-seeking.

most players in the NFL are black men. he is a fraud. he rails against white people despite having a white mother who is open to date and marry a black man

Through all the years I have been amazed, no exaggeration - amazed, that no matter how many obtuse and small minded people we get rid of (or run into the ocean all on their own), we lose one, and another steps right up to the plate. It never fuckin' fails. And I've been noticing this for quite a while now. It's like there's a conveyor belt behind a hidden door (which is also a killer name for a goth-metal album, but I digress).

You sir, can consider yourself embalmed, shrouded and buried. You are incapable of a valid opinion and you share not one common bond with anyone of any legitimate ideological persuasion. Every descriptive used in the Mr. Grinch song applies to you by an exponential power of 10. You are repugnant and vile and I bid you Good Day Sir. I said Good Day!

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
How disparate and yet completely inline with the guiding principle (an oxymoron if there ever was one) of a nonpareil capitalistic organization like the NFL (translation: greed) it is to unofficially deny employment to an athlete whose only transgression is to publicly exercise his constitutional right of free expression and yet allow an athlete who is a repeat offender of domestic violence to not only play but to be handsomely remunerated in return (Ezekiel Elliott). Elliott is by no means the only past example of this either. The OP's glaring racist tendencies are on open display in this thread and are frankly disgusting.

Although I completely and vehemently disagree with Kaepernick's decision to not stand for the anthem I am likewise equally vehement in my defense of his right to do so. Unless it becomes a matter of contractual obligation that makes it a contingency of employment to stand for the anthem, no one should be fearful of retribution for declining to do so. The last time I checked it was not a crime to refuse to stand for the national anthem but most certainly was a crime to assault a woman. Yet, here we are....a week into the glorious NFL season and Kaepernick is obviously being blackballed by all 32 teams while Elliott suited up and played on Sunday night against the New York Giants. This type of thing is just one more reason that my disdain for the NFL and everything it stands for (translation: greed) continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

Aside from his decision to not stand for the anthem, I am in deep admiration of Kaepernick for being willing to forego compromising his core principles for money. It takes a lot of courage to endure what he is enduring and, additionally, is costing him millions of dollars in the process. It is a rare trait indeed to show that type of devotion to that degree and I applaud his refusal to give in to the pressure. Whether he voted in last year's election is irrelevant and, unlike Elliott's behavior, is also perfectly legal so the attempt to attach some sort of hypocrisy to it is invalid and, in all candor, ridiculous.
