growing up and visiting family, a lot of them used to wait up til midnight on christmas eve to open up at least one gift. i think some did all of em. its a filipino tradition.

i never liked it though. i like waiting and having the grand finale all at once chirstmas morning. my girl wants to open up one, so im fine with that, but im not gonna.

what about u guys?

In my country we open the gifts on Xmas Eve like in Germany, although I'd say we tend to do it 1-2 hours later.

I must say that I hate this celebration and I sometimes don't bother to open my gifts for a few days or even weeks - as for the gifts I give to other people, I usually don't bother to wrap them up.

When I was younger my family used to go to my Grandparents on my mom's side of the family open up gifts from those grandparents and such. Then my brother and I aswell as my parents would open our gifts from eachother Christmas day morning. Then on christmas day night we would go to my other grandmothers house to eat dinner and open gifts from her.

In my family, the tradition is to wait at midnight to open gifts. Kids have to take a nap around 8pm and are awaken at 00:00.

I don't celebrate Christmas.
The day before it's my birthday and most of the time I was on a ski-holiday!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I got my present early before xmaz..so im straight...

Just mos def thank G.O.D. for living on Xmaz, Period!!!

Real Talk!!

We used to open one on x-mas eve and open the others the next day. but that's really for kids, ya know, the whole Santa thing. Now we mostly open them on the night before, whenever, and then enjoy having the day off and being able to sleep in on the 25th.

Mainly Christmas but there were years when I might be at an Aunt and Uncles
when we would open them Christmas Eve night. :)

When I was younger, we'd open one present each on Christmas Eve, then save the rest for the next morning.

I think we stopped doing that when my mommy was not longer making enough money at her job to afford to get presents for me and my sister.

We would open our gifts at midnight and use the log of wood we each received to heat the home until morning.

And then we'd sit around deciding which of our family looked the sickest so we could have something to eat for Christmas dinner.

Ahhh...memories.
