Chicken and Mushroom Pie

Gorgeous.

I had one the other day, it was just like my kinda lady....

Juicy, full of love and begging to be eaten.

I normally don't think much of "pies" etc but this was really juicy. One of the good things about being English I suppose...the chip shops really know how to please a mans belly. GALUSH!

Now I'm craving some chicken pot pie. :yummie:

For a minute I thought you meant a proper home made chicken and mushroom pie. You'd be talking then :drool1:

If I'm going to have a pie that involves meat, I prefer something with red meat. I'm not much into the chicken pies.

When I lived in Quebec, there was a place near me that made exceptional tourtiere. It was Caribou, with sage and cranberries. Not THAT is a delicious meat pie.

Go on... :drool2:

Would my local Waitrose have Caribou? I could try Venison if not .....

Venison is good, too, but you have to cut it differently, and cook it a bit longer. That means the crust preparation has to be different, too.

Plus, venison is not as sweet a meat. I don't like sweet foods, but Caribou is the right amount of gamy and sweet for this application.

News of the day: I just found Caribou. Fresh, **** raised, and local.

If you are buying a pie at halftime in the football games. It has to be a steak pie

It's worth paying like a pound extra as you get real meat rather than the other rubbish when you go to football games in Scotland

Ive only seen them at the bigger stadiums though like Celtic park and hampden, the small stadiums like St Mirren park only sell the **** ones

Any chance they deliver to the Cotswolds :( I grate a small amount of really good quality dark chocolate in with venison just gives it a little bit of sweetness. Works really well with Pheasant as well - roll on October 1st :ak47:

Your a fucking idiot!:1orglaugh But I love Pot Pies so I'll run with it! lol

Wouldn't be fresh or local. :(

C'mon. You can find it! Ingredients like that are worth the work. I'll send you a killer recipe, and you can make the best meat pie you've ever had.

You won't find caribou anywhere near the Bay Area. The closest thing to it you can get here is buffalo stew at Tommy's.
