PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Some kitty math: How many lives did little tabby Gracie Mae use up when she crawled into her owner's suitcase, went through an airport X-ray machine, got loaded onto a plane, thrown onto a baggage belt and mistakenly picked up by a stranger far from home?

"She's got to be at four or five now," Seth Levy said after his 10-month-old pet was returned Sunday night by a kind stranger who went home to Fort Worth, Texas, with the wrong bag and Gracie inside to boot.

The last time Levy's wife, Kelly, saw Gracie was before she took her husband to the airport. The 24-year-old went back to her house in Palm Beach Gardens late Friday to find the bottom step, where Gracie would usually be waiting, empty.

Baggage is pressurized ? It's a wonder that the kit didn't suffocate in normal air conditions inside the case.

Wasn't there a tv commercial that used to feature the fact that their luggage was of such high quality, it was unsinkable (?) I forgot which mfgr.

It's a good thing that these folks bought the cheepy baggage ! lol

Yes, That was one of 'em. Thanks !

Cats are amazing creatures in that they have a superb sense of direction and the have the ability to survive great lenghts of time without food, especially water.

I like that story about the cat that made the trip, (IIRC) from Chicago to Boston, where the cat left his new home and trekked back to his old home. I forgot the length of time it took . . several months.

Another got trapped in a chest and drawers and was loaded inside a shipping container. The route was, again (IIRC) Hawaii to Florida and the kit survived as well.

If anybody knows how to locate these stories in a snap, please do so and post 'em. Everybody likes a happy story !!

Yaaaaaaaaaay for the happy ending.

I can't believe the guy who took the wrong suitcase wanted to name the cat... Suitcase.

The cat must have heard a can of tuna fish being opened at his home that far away. :1orglaugh A lot of them when you want them to come are pretty stubborn.
