Cat Finds Way Home From Chicago

http://www.koat.com/news/23166769/detail.html

I always find it just as amazing how cats manage to travel so far as I do that they manage to find their way home everyday. Great to see some decent people still out there who are willing to send the cat back and put in a lot of effort getting him back to where he belongs. Good story all round.

Aww, that was a nice uplifting story and a good change of pace.

Cats seem to have built in gps systems, sort of like homing pigeons. One of my cats in times past went back to my former residence twice and the spread was about 3 miles distance between the two residences. There are amazing stories documented about cats disappearing from their owners and their new place of residence for well over a year only to miraculously turn up at their former homes hundreds of miles away.
They say if you have an indoor / outdoor cat and you move to a new residence, keep the cat in the house for two weeks before allowing them to go outside, I guess their hard drives clear after two weeks. :dunno: :1orglaugh

We had a cat when we were kids that found his way home from a couple miles away. Got out of the car on the other side of town and was on the front steps a couple days later. Cats are dope.

I think only people who never had a cat wonder at this story or others where the cats find their way home over miles and miles.

Here are some feats of my two flat-mates:

The little lady, she has a habit of jumping and walking around the top levels of racks etc. I remember watching her sitting on top of the one next to my computer desk.

Next time i looked, she was sitting on top of the door and looked down at me with a smug look on her face^^

Or my damn tomcat, if I don't get up early to serve breakfast, he starts to wipe stuff from my bed-desk etc and later giving me head-butts if I do not jump up.

Nasty buggers, but you gotta love them :)

Awww :)

My pug got out one day and ran away. Myself and my neighbors literally searched my neighborhood for 12 hours straight, in the rain before it got too cold/dark to keep looking. I was sure she was gone, either scooped up by someone or hit by a car. Cried myself to sleep, and woke up to her smug ass sitting on my front porch waiting to be let in. Obviously a diff thing since she's a dog and not a cat...but animals are pretty smart!

Dogs & cats are really smart and also very delicious in China and other parts of Asia.

Just sayin' . . .

What??? I think there is some misplaced and unwarranted hostility in that post. He was talking about the cat I had in my last sig. It was indeed a cute kitty.

I see, however, have you yet informed your cat or cats about this betrayal of trust ? How could you ? :shakesfist: :crying:

It's no wonder why the cat you claim to have loved so much heard all of the shuffling going on every time he'd scratch on your very much locked bedroom door ! :bawling:

You realize these cats are animated and the other cats are anonymous kitties, yes? I have one cat in real life and she is very loyal to me. Maybe I will include her in my next sig. :turnturn:
