Are you too lazy that you can't put the beer in the refrigerator yourself?

The greater point is that this is simply a game of chase our tails as, there is no free lunch, you see ? somehow that beer is going to get chilled.
Either the customer is going to have to purchase one of those EVIL disposable non biodegradable, earth unfriendly styrofoam coolers as well as purchase an earth unfriendly, non biodegradable plastic bag of ice, all of which have already caused some form of pollution in one form or another being that they were manufactured and shipped to their retailers . . . but wait !

The now pizzed off, drunken - bellgerent guy who had to purchase said plastic bag of ice and styro cooler extra just says f_ _ K it ! and crushes the styro cooler with his bare hands, into hundreds of tiny pieces and leaves the debris on the, umm . . . beach. :dunno:
1/2 kiddin, but you get the picture. :D

I just like to follow things to their ultimate ends before making judgement, as the author appears to have done. But to begin making laws based solely based upon what feels good, I don't know. :dunno:

Aside from all of that, Is Hot mega giving us the day off ?

Fridge.

Beer doesn't have to be refrigerated, just milk and drinks like them.
Stop making it easy to drink and drive.

Wine isn't refrigerated or "chilled."
Pop isn't refrigerated either.

Stop wasting energy.
It's illegal to drink while you drive. :hatsoff:

So, work is a 10 minute ride from my house, I have a corner store selling beer at state minimum, and that is literally, a 2 minute ride, or a little more then a 1/4 mile walk from home. I get off work, after a miserably hot and humid day, and want a cold beer when I get home, but because some people aren't capable of abiding by the laws, I have to suffer, and am denied my right to a cold refreshing malty beverage when I get out of the shower...another 10 minutes after I walk through the door. I have to wait at least an hour for my beer, because of someone else's irresponsibility? I guess you have a point, I mean no one would ever thing to fill a cooler with ice, and stick it in their trunk, or the bed of their pick up. They would never say to themselves, "damn, I can't go to the store and buy a cold 6-pack, I guess I shouldn't go to the bar then". Cold beer makes people drive drunk, like spoons made Rosie O'Donnel fat, and Catholicism made priests molest.

Sick of people trying to create a fucking perfect world when many people are having kids at such a young age and becoming pregnant. No way of paying for the damn child.

You could always plan ahead, put some beer in your fridge and have it cold when you get home from work the next day.

But that would be crazy.

Also...do people actually buy beer, and drink it in the car on the way home?? If that is true, warm beer won't stop them. These people are alcoholics.

I could, but what if on Thursday, I had no desire, but Friday was a particularly, long, and rough day, and the mood struck me on the way home? I don't keep beer in my fridge, because I don't drink on a regular basis anymore. When the mood strikes me, I buy a 6-pack. It may last a few hours, it may last a week.

Yeah, that's the point, people will do what they do, so don't make the people that play by the rules, pay for the mistakes, and stupidity, of those that don't.

You have no right to cold beer. You have the right to put it in your own refrigerator and that's all you have the right to do. :hatsoff:

Liquor stores with drive-up windows should be allowed either.

I saw something on ABC last night (Nightline) 7-10-'09, about in the future, there will be no need for men/males because women will be able to procreate/recreate with themselves. Bloody makes me mad. :crash:

We men should just damn well all kill ourselves while we're hear as this supposed scourge on society.

Sorry I didn't really address the OP.

As far as drinking and driving...you'll never stop it. It's sad, and a stupid thing to do, but people do stupid things, it is what it is. They will drink at a bar, or a party and drive home, or go to the store for more when they run out.

They'll even transit themselves home after drinking, moving from one barstool to
ANOTHER

Yeah right...who's gonna take out the garbage. Or check the oil. Or hook up the stereo? We will never be replaced...EVER!

And you have no right, to tell me or anyone else what should and shouldn't be allowed.

I still want an explanation, of why I should have to chill the beer myself, because someone MIGHT drive drunk because cold beer is available.

Once again, the law abiding members of society are expected to pay the price, for the members that break the law.

Drugs aren't legal, but it doesn't stop people from smoking a joint while driving...I see it almost every day.

He's not saying what you should and shouldn't be allowed, you are - no one has a right to any retail service, which is what he's saying. Plus, drink-driving isn't the only reason they're giving. Saving money and electricity seemed to be the main thrust of the original post.

There's no reason to sell beer cold. Why can't the pop be stored in a refrigerated area? Beer can be refrigerated when the pop is. Until then I need to write my representative and make this happen. :D

That just means the police aren't doing their job, as usual.

I don't know where in the hell you're from...but in Ohio, the price of beer does not go up, if it's cold.

If you go into a liquor store in the great state of Indiana, you're going to pay more for chilled beer. It's that simple. It's at least 1-2 dollars cheaper to buy it warm. Don't forget, this is also the state where you can't buy alcohol from any store on Sunday. Period. Bars are generally closed. The only way you can serve any kind of alcohol is if you are a restaurant or an establishment that serves food seven days a week - that's how some bars circumvent the rule.

Interesting. Is Indiana 20 years behind the rest of the country?!?

20 years behind, no. Christian conservative majority, yes. This is a state that had voted for a Republican presidential candidate in every election since Nixon (Obama bucked that trend).

Yes, there is. I just told you. When I get home from work, I might want a cold beer...I shouldn't have to plan in advance for that...it's not a major event. It's just a law abiding, tax paying citizen, wanting to relax with a cold beer...RIGHT NOW. If they want to change that law, I too will right a letter or 2. I do that from time to time anyway.

Sure it is. It's called free enterprise. It's my right to buy it, it's the stores right to sell it...as long as we both comply with the law. If they want to change that, let them try, I guarantee I won't be the only one to complain. It's an issue because a group of sadly misguided people believe that everyone should pay the price, to make the world their way. They can't comprehend that the only people that should pay the price for a crime, is the person that commits it, and that you shouldn't pay that price before hand, just to try and keep everyone else in line with their agenda. As far as saving electricity, prove to me, that it costs less for me to chill, and keep chilled that same beer, that was chilled and kept cold for me by a store. More importantly, explain to me why, a store should loose even more revenue, then they already have in these troubling economic times.

The stores have the right to sell it, you don't have the right to expect it, though. Yes, if it's for sale, you're entitled to be able to buy it, but they don't have to put it on sale and no one has the right to be sold anything specific like chilled beer. Rights are things like the right to education or free speech, not the right to have someone else spend money doing something they could just as easily expect you to do yourself, and which most people do themselves anyway.
And for saving money/power - if you buy it chilled, then keep it chilled yourself, that costs both you and the store money. If you chill it yourself, then the store doesn't pay to chill it, cutting on their costs. At the end of the day, that's all they're going to care about. Having to chill your own beer isn't going to turn anyone teetotal, so they've no reason not to ditch pre-chilled beer, especially in this downturn. More people buy in advance and keep stuff in their fridge than buy and drink in the same motion, it really is a minority who will be as affected by this as you seem to be.
