She can't be tried for the same crime...******** Double Jeopardy. She can only be sued in a civil court...If I recall correctly from the attorneys and legal analysts on HLN/CNN.
Yes, that's true. She could not be re-tried for ******, but it's possible that prosecutors could try her under different charges, such as ********* her *****'s civil rights. Something like that has been attempted before, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
In short, she can not be re-tried in the Florida courts for anything based upon the same set of facts and circumstances without ********* the concept of double jeopardy as set forth in the 5th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
However, if she had in fact committed violations of federal law, or the laws of another state (an example would have been if she had taken her ******** across state lines to dump her body), then she could in fact be tried in another jurisdiction based upon the same set of facts and circumstances without ********* double jeopardy. An example of this would be from the civil rights era, where people were aquitted by all white juries in state courts, and the feds later charged them with civil rights violations (a simultaneous ********* of Federal Law, that took place while ********* State Law) and often got convictions there (on a MUCH lesser charge....as ****** in and of itself is not actually a ********* of federal law). In this case, a civil rights ********* case would really not apply, so there really isn't anything more that the criminal justice system can do to her. Of course, as was already pointed out, the civil justice system is an other story all together.
Now, regarding the threats and all that Casey has been receiving...is anyone REALLY that delusional to think anything remotely harmful will come to Ms. Anthony? Unless another ****** member did something to her (or if she does something to herself), she'll be just fine from a physical standpoint. As ANGRY & as much hatred was brewing in white America following the O.J. Simpson verdict, I figured for sure that some member of a white supremacist group (such as the Klan) would **** him (because it wasn't like he went into hiding or anything). We see where he is today.....yeah he's in prison (based upon his age, likely for life)...but he's still alive....and that was 17 years ago. Come back in 17 years, and I'm sure you will find that, although she likely will not be in prison...(I mean O.J. was an idiot after he got away with it & he did things to taunt the system....and they got his ass)...but, I'm sure you will find that she is very much alive.
Do a lot of people care about the verdict (I'm not one of them btw.)? Yes, obviously they do. Do they care THAT much (enough to actually **** her or to do her harm)? I believe the answer to that is CLEARLY no!!!!! :2 cents:
