Speaking as a union stagehand, I can tell you that the only porn events that actually use us are parties and conventions. Movies tend to have production assistants working on the set, and lighting and sound tend to me minimal to cut down on costs. They might have a couple par cans for lighting, and a couple shotgun mics to pick up any dialogue. As for being a camera op, good luck. I would say that the advantage that you would have in that aspect would be that you're not a professional, since professionals tend to charge professional rates. Don't take my word for it, though. Considering that the porn industry is doing even worse than the general economy and doesn't look like it's going to turn itself around any time soon, and the fact that the behind the scene stuff in porn usually has a mentality that would make the stuff that goes on in wrestling look professional by comparison I wouldn't get my hopes up. Porn is also very clique or sub-culture orientated and a lot of it is just who you know, who your friends with, or who owes you something. I could also point out that porn has more douche bags in it by percentage than probably any other legal profession in the civilized industrial Western World. Not to rain on your passion or what you want to do with your life but if you do somewhat make it in I wouldn't envy you.
