Captchas = annoying!!!

Sorta like how when baby proof medicine bottles came out, even adults had trouble opening them. Well captchas are the same bullshit. They are starting to get on my nerves because you always have to enter them and some are hard to read.

Are they even really working to filter out spam?

Before rapidsha... ahem, I mean RS started this SEVERE speed throttling, they had the cat captcha. There were random numbers/letters.. and behind those were barely visible cats or dogs. You enter the three or four things that appeared in front of only the CATS.

It was... interesting. In a bad way. This speed limiter thing is nice cuz now I dont have to wait at ALL between downloads. Or renew my IP.

Honestly, why do so many people upload to RS? Half the service is just people putting their pirated crap there only to be taken down in a few hours.. the other half are people who obviously dont know the alternatives and put all their private crap on thar. Ah well, no real loss.

If you think they're annoying, try logging on in MapleStory. Random numbers on a keyboard and you have to click your 4 digit security code. RIGHT AFTER YOU ENTER YOUR DAMN USER/PASS! Are bots really THAT bad on there? Sheesh!

oh god yes. I got through myspace like the plague adding people for my mobters and I keep running into those fuckin captcha things. I just close those out and move on, not gonna waste my fuckin time!

Haha just was reading this and i'm not really sure what you actually mean, do you mean spyware that like gets you and directs you to places you don't wanna go etc and doesn't let you. If so yes thats damn annoying.

yeah, i had no idea wtf u people were talking about. for a minute i swear it thought it was an animal. like a cat crossed with something else (which would have pissed me off).

I don't really mind them, unless I'm "drunk browsing". Then, it can become a problem trying to figure out the mythical puzzle that is a "captcha". It's like trying to do a rubiks cube with 3 broken fingers while driving a car with no headlights in the middle of the night.

They do serve a purpose, even though they are annoying!
I own a couple of forums, and before we stared using them, the SPAM was unbelievable.
Don't get me wrong - they are not water tight, but they do have some effect.
