Can't find the "Solved" button anymore?

You have to be the thread starter for that to happen. Are you the OP?

Looks like this:

Premium Media Content
Upgrade to Premium to view all images in this thread

Then it also has to be in the BETA - ID section. Threads made prior to the BETA don't have this.

The correct procedure to go through for many years was to use the 'report' feature to request for threads to be marked solved.

The new BETA section allows users to mark individual posts as THE answer, which in itself marks the thread as solved.

The BETA has been in operation for a year now and all has gone well so it will be gradually rolled out across the forum. There are thousands upon thousands of threads to process though so it will take some time.

But it will mean that credit is literally given where it is due because everyone who has correctly answers queries will get a credit to their name.

In other words, if you create a new ID thread in the present day and get an answer, you will be able to mark it solved yourself - but for older threads, you can't.

And I wouldn't recommend reporting all your past ID threads that you'd like to be marked solved because that will happen anyway over time in the next few months.

Any thread with links or images which no longer work, like one of the ones John referenced there will be archived, but whoever answered the query will still get their credit regardless - so they won't miss out. The reason for archiving it is so that nobody wastes time looking at old threads which center around images which no longer work because nobody can help ID those ones nor is an ID much good if the user cannot physically see who it was in the first place.

I've been through the threads you mentioned above and some of them have been archived due to old broken links in the first post so if they present you with an error message when you click on some of them, you'll know why.
