New users need 5 posts before they can create new threads in certain areas. Just 4 more to go!

I replied to an old thread with the same issue I found via a Google search before I found this thread. ("freeones new registration can't post")
Just to clarify, new accounts need only make 5 posts to allow thread creation in the Identify Babe thread and requesting isn't needed to do so.

His problem was that his account wasn't activated via email, so while I looked into his issue, I found that, activated it for him, and he's lived happily ever after.
Seriously, there needs to be a different strategy to protect the forums from spammers without forcing new users to write bullshit like this just to get their post count up. Still, that's number five for me so hopefully will be able to post some things of value from now on.
Well, to be fair, I think its kind of a personal choice whether you want to write something that has intention or just nonsense.
You post, we just have to approve them until you hit 5. Sometimes we catch the approvals pretty quick too, sometimes within minutes.
