^^live there. the culture is different. the cities are different. not better, but different. the difference is immediately perceptible upon crossing the border. it is a different culture.

There are two Americas-corporate,official America and the American people.(Three if you count Hollywood America which I don't)
We see monstrosities like MacDonalds, Budweiser and the like, Coca and Pepsi Cola flooding the world with their crap.But the vast majority of Americans I experience are nice courteous and polite folk.

I don't blame them since Bush did a fine job tarnishing and ruining America's reputation probably beyond repair

basically Cdns tend to like the things we can consume from the US (ie the NFL, Disney World) but are quick to distance ourselves from something in the US that we dont like (ie higher crime rates, more poverty, poor international reputation)

Why?
That makes no sense, and isn't very logical. I can't respect things I find good about somebody or something while simultaneously look down upon the things they do bad.
Plus I don't think the Canadians would shake in their boots if they didn't have McDonalds, Starbucks, or Wall-Mart anymore. :1orglaugh As for everything else, apparently America doesn't make anything itself anymore, so Canadians wouldn't have to worry very much. There would be entertainment like movies and video games, but that would be just about it. It's all we have.
