Canadian province of Ontario legalizes brothels in landmark ruling

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
They've also decided to disband the police force because it unfairly discriminates against serial killers and their ability to do their job successfully.

I like how they do it in Mexico: block off a few square blocks with one entrance/exit, pay a fee to go in (in Mexico is $20 pesos, about a little under $2 dollars) have some clubs/nudie bars in there with their own security, have a police station located not too far away or preferably within the compound with their own entrance/exit in case they need to go and tend some call elsewhere or have the place located behind a police station with a back door going into the compound to answer calls from within, and then between the clubs have the rooms for the ladies that work outside the clubs with their own bathroom/shower.

I don't see a problem here, if people want to pay to screw let em knock themselves out. Here in the U.S. that would never go over because of all the religious zealots that can't mind their fucking business. But, Nevada has gotten it right and it works with no problems and the girls are clean and healthy. With the downside of the expense, but there isn't too much of an issue.

Except they haven't really. A news source actually from Ontario explains it better. http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario...ws-brothels-but-soliciting-ruled-illegal?bn=1.

No, they actually have. There were three laws put in front of the Ontario Supreme Court and two of them - the law concerning brothels and another concerning living off of prostitution - were found unconstitutional. The third, which was a law against soliciting sex in public (aka what prostitutes are most commonly associated with) was upheld. So basically, prostitutes have the right to join a brothel where they can have personal security and work in a safe environment, but they still cannot publically advertise their services or the brothel.

Except the ruling on brothels has been suspended for a year in order to allow the time for appeals and/or government response, while the other 2 have 30 days. Plus the fact that there is still the matter of bringing this up to the Supreme Court of Canada (which will probably happen). Within a year there may well be the possibility that the Supreme Court of Canada strikes this ruling down.

Yeah this ruling says brothels are legal but it is not in effect. So basically nobody should start celebrating yet, not the least being stupid enough to operate or partake in a brothel.

Basically all the headlines are really misleading for the purposes of selling papers and page views. Brothels are still illegal until next year.
