California Water Drought

The problem is the greedy assholes who waste water.
Like I wrote above, there should be a limit for low cost water, and anyone who goes above that limit, pays $100 per cubic foot.
Especially water bottlers like Nestle, who steal the water and sell it back to us at over 1000 times what they paid for it.

There wouldn't be a problem if Moonbeam wasn't the govenor and people were more worried about other people instead of some insignificant fucking fish.

LOL. Yeah, that's why snowpack levels in the Sierras were down to 6% of normal on March 1....that goddamned Jerry Brown and some insignificant fish. Damn them both to hell!!

They (and many other companies just like them) may be greedy but the people who buy the stuff are fucking stupid. Please....everyone....drink PWS-treated tap water and use a carbon-activated filter (there are a number of them on the market that can be procured almost anywhere) if you don't want exposure to sediment, chlorine or volatile organic chemicals and you'll never need to buy another environmentally-irresponsible plastic water bottle again. P.T. Barnum was absolutely right.

Here's a great article for those so inclined to be interested. It's a bit tekkie but you can skim over some of it without losing the overall message.

It's exactly the same as with people crying that money's just too tight, and they are always inches away for being bankrupt. Have an smartphone? Have a car? Have a house? Need to do a lot of drinking and smoking? Well, there you go!

Not exactly the same in my book. When you buy bottled water, you are paying for something that you already have. Either marketing hype or laziness encourages us to buy the prepackaged stuff instead of pouring it from our own spigot. Same thing with those stupid plastic Keurig individual coffee doses. Environmentally-irresponsible, expensive (why not buy beans and grind your own coffee??....way better and cheaper!) and appealing to our tendency to be lazy. How may of us still change our own oil in our cars? Not many I would bet.

You can save money and get a better product many times by doing things the old-fashioned way.

I was just in LA for the last week and talked to several people about this including my family. Its been a long time since they had any rain and summer is nearly here so that means another 5 or 6 months without a drop. But hey, its all part of god's plan right so keep on burning coal and don't even consider changing anything? Hell maybe we should burn MORE coal while we're at it? Rick Perry and Ted Cruz are watching people in their state (which is turning purple faster than redvideums cock at a klan meeting held on a playground) lose cattle and crops daily.

Ummm...I can see some of those things being de facto necessitates for a lot of people. (except for the smoking and drinking part.), yes maybe even the smartphone in some circumstances in modern society. It's not a good equivalence. Even then in some cases if a person can do nothing other than barely hang on so they only have the privilege to just barely be able to afford to keep going to work and nothing more life can become a lot less worth living. People should be able to have at least a small amount of happiness. A very minor luxury every now and then doesn't somehow counteract legitimate claims of hardship a person’s society has put on them.

Have you seen the stats on fast food and walmart employees and their dependence on welfare? Check this shit out republicans who refuse to see the need to raise minimum wage.
(I know you still will refuse to see this as relevant)

Walmart employees get $6.2 BILLION in public assistance because they don't make enough working to live on. Yet Walmart benefits from food stamps and EBT more than $13 BILLION fucking dollars a year!!!!!!!!!!! More than any other company in the US so they are double dipping in the tax payer pockets.

Fast food workers got over $7 BILLION in public assistance, most of which work full time. $1.2 BILLION to McDonald's alone. So we are subsidizing the corporations that makes hundreds of millions in profits by paying the rest of their employees salaries.

Worry not for I am returning to the motherland of California as of July where I will perform my naked rain dance and hopefully use it to seduce the water from the sky.
