I agree that and Angel were pretty good shows...That tv show Supernatural was good for the first 3 seasons then started going down hill with the whole angels vs. demons nonesense.

The character development was excellent and you really felt for them throughout every episode, I liked the storylines based at Sunnydale High best as every week was a different plot, just like the beginning of x-files. Then came big storylines that covered each season and every episode in that season was devoted to that storyline, I think the bigger Buffy tried to get (ie last season: all the potential Slayers in the world!) the less I enjoyed them but I haven't watched anything so religiously since, although I am quite enjoying the Vampire Diaries after a mediocre start.

I remember the first episode of Angle; he moves to New York after having his fall out with Buffy. At the end of the episode he is in his room alone at night and decides to call Buffy. You hear Buffy pick up the other end and say, “Hello, who is this” a few times before Angle hangs up and the camera slowly pans away to end the episode.

On the same weeks Buffy Episode she is going through some depression or something. In the middle of the episode wile she is walking through her house you here the phone ring, she picks it up says the “Hello who is this” before the phone is hung up on the other end, she looks at the phone a little weird hangs up slowly, cut to the next scene of that Buffy episode.

Even though it is insignificant I remember that. It was like a way to link the to shows together where only a fan would notice. Those kind of things is what made the shows so good.

Your not alone in that I remember it too and I loved the 2 shows.

My kids just started watching Buffy this year. I love watching them watch it. At the moment they keep watching the Dracula episode over and over up until they left for their trip. I hope they aren't having Buffy Withdrawal while they are gone.

Good character development, good plot but a lot of caveats. First, I can't stand Sarah Michelle Gellar. Second, whimsy's comment on it being a teen soap opera is really quite accurate, unfortunately. I actually haven't watched it that much because of this (one or two seasons), but I see the dramatic merits this show has as well and intend to watch it some more.. at some point.

Now, the spin-off series Angel was much better: darker, more serious mood and less irritating characters, altough I do recall Angel himself being a big wuss occasionally. I haven't really watched it that actively either. Matter of fact, I'm extremely lazy when it comes to watching tv series.

I remember finding season of Buffy cheap at Walmart and giving it a shot since I love Alyson Hannigan. I was drawn in and I kept ordeg the next seasons of it and Angel online. I liked Angel better but I still watch both shows every so often.

^ I think that's one of the reasons I hated those American Pie movies (aside almost every other reason). Alyson Hannigan is a band nerd, and I'm just sitting there the whole time thinking "...She used to have magik powers!!...Now all she does is stick a flute in her gotch..."

But really, Buffy was that show that I found myself watching, unsure what was drawing me in (probably the hot high school chick kicking vampire ass), and I didn't want to like it, because it was on the same network as all those teen dramas, but I liked the hell out of it. They had good writers on the show that kept it fresh enough, and I like that they went beyond merely vampires all the time. Bringing in all these crazy fucked up demons. That's why these new vampire shows probably won't see more than 3 seasons, because they won't expand. What? Do like 'Twilight' and add a werewolf? Well, Buffy did it first, and his name was Oz (Seth Green).

I hear there is a alright BBC show called Being Human which has 3 distinct characters on the show a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost...Anyone heard of this one?

Buffy's a great show. One of the 10 greatest series of all time; Much better than any series running now.
And, quite important : it has a "real" end. Not an end that says "Adventure goes on but you won't see it guys !"

Buffy has revolutioned the way vampires are seen in TV/movies. Without Buffy, no Twilight, no True Blood, no Vampire Diaries...
It has also been the 1st big show to introduce a major character that was gay: Willow.

I liked how Whedon kept Buffy and Angel's stories going after the shows with a comic book series. I liked what I have read of those so far.

Fuckin' A! This thread hasn't moved in months. You can't get much better the the Buffster and Caveman Brow

Ahhh...Cordelia! My favorite character from both shows!

I used to have a copy of the Playboy she was in, but I tossed it. I wasn't a fan of either show till after that came out so I didn't know who she was then.

Where's Jenny Calender and the friendly demon Clem! I enjoyed Spike and Buffys relationship which is probably why I hated Riley so much, he always got in their way. I was unhappy when they turned Spike into a potential rapist and he left for Africa only to come back as a quivering wreck living in the basement but the way Buffy got him out of there and nursed him back to health was cool. As sad as it was he should've stayed dead at the end rather than join Angel, it would've been a fitting send off.

"Hush". The title of my favorite episode. These demons, called The Gentlemen, were fucking wicked. They would take the voices away from all the townspeople, so they were unable to scream, so then they would float around and cut people open, eating their flesh. But being very tidy about it, as they are gentlemen...
I think this was the tv promo for the episode.

and another

I think this was also the episode where Willow meets Tara and they learn that the other has powers.
