Case in point, I suppose.
Could be your browser. I've had it happen to me, and switching browsers helped (mine was pretty outdated, honestly). But even if you don't switch, you can pretty much rely on the post to go through even when the page freezes. Refreshing the page or going back is (I think) what causes the double post.
