We didn't get the 3rd fight in NY. Ratings were good. I hope this takes off. Haymon Boxing is shelling out over $20M a year to NBC for this.

I am with you Bob hopefully this will continue and grow. I think you are like I am and remember watching prize fights on network tv. Remember the days when you could turn on the tv and see a top ranked prize fight.

The third fight wasn't bad. I will say whoever was the ref in the second fight was no Larry Hazard. Hopefully that will be the only time I see him. But this was the first card so things should improve.

They will have to strategically schedule the fights. NHL playoffs end in June but now you are competing with summer activities (people not staying home). Once you get back to school. you've got football and a new television season. They'll have the months after football to establish it's self but they'll have to gap that time with something engaging. Interest could easily be lost during that time.

Not exactly timely, but I had the pleasure of meeting the champ James Buster Douglass at a charitable event he put on a couple weeks ago celebrating the 25th anniversary of him knocking out Mike Tyson to become the heavyweight champion of the world.

Boxing adviser and manager Al Haymon's "Premier Boxing Champions" series is coming to ESPN and will replace stalwart show "Friday Night Fights" as the network's platform for live boxing beginning this summer, ESPN announced Wednesday.

ESPN and Haymon Boxing Management have finalized a long-rumored deal under which Haymon has purchased time on the network that will see the return of regular big-time fights to ESPN in prime time -- not ESPN2, where FNF has aired since 1998.

This Mayweather-McGregor fight is a circus.

I would pay good money though to see McGregor tear that woman-beater within an inch of his life in a street fight. That would be money well spent.
