Bottled water poll.

I'm sure he just likes to stay hydrated and have good kidney function. :D

That's just for me and I swear at least 7.5 liters a day, the extra .5 when I can. (Plus, 1.5 liters of 0% milk a day, and another c800ml of various mixes with supplements.)

Bottled, mineral or tap, it's incredibly important to stay hydrated with water. My needs are a lot higher than the average, but I think that increased water intake will help most people not only feel, but also look better.

It's weird to me how, at least when I'm in the US, how "bottled water" is a bit of a status thing. I still think that they're missing the point between "bottled water" and "bottled mineral water".

Can I just explain to the members who don't know. BNF works out a lot. So his body needs the extra fluids.

But even then his in take isn't that high when you look at what the experts say that a person in my line of work should drink in water per day. Because I do a heavy manual job with lots of lifting, pulling, walking, etc. The daily in take of water they say I should have is 4 to 5 litres a day. Which actually is not far off what I have anyway.

I usually don't drink that much. Usually it's between 6 or 7 liters although I go well above 8 on the hottest days especially depending on what I'm doing that day. Right now it's cooler out so I'm down a bit.

I just bought a box of largish Glaceau Smartwater which bills itself as "vapor distillled water + electrolytes," which they identify, but I'm not sure I care about. They don't say where it comes from so I assume it's tap that's been "vapor distilled." In any case it is very clean tasting and yumilicious. Plus a "smart" modern bottle design...overall, I likee.

I do drink Mineral water sometimes. It is, of course, much more expensive at a restaurant here in America, when you can find it. My problem is carbonation is kind of annoying sometimes. Sometimes I don't feel like consuming something carbonated.

Here's an interesting page:

http://www.wisegeek.com/how-much-water-should-i-drink-daily.htm

It says "The latest new conventional wisdom from the field of sports medicine holds that you should drink daily half your body weight in ounces of water. That is, if you weight 120 pounds, you should drink 60 ounces of water every day, or seven and a half cups. If you weight 180 pounds, you should drink 90 ounces of water daily, or eleven cups and another few sips."

I think the bottled water companies have definitely marketed the "hydration" schtick quite effectively, and so people feel they ought to be drinking water all the time.

And finally, again, because this page is just chock full of valuable info:

i usually drink tap water as i think bottled water is a rip off.
however, if its real hot out and im not near a water fountain ill buy a water.
it's all the same.

Just a little warning for anyone ever planning on traveling to the middle east, check for an expiration date on the water, because I have learned heavily treated water can go bad, and some of the water can greatly accelerate the development of kideny stones.........not too much fun at all.

it just comes down to the filtration used and if you have any problems with chlorine or assorted minerals and other contaminates in your water. i, for one, do not want to be drinking chlorine, so thats why i drink RO water.

heres an interesting breakdown on different filtrations. i strongly recommend looking for and trying out water filtered by reverse osmosis. (it gets chlorine out) all water has the filtration type used on the bottle.

Only time I drink bottled water is when I go out for a walk or knowing that tap water is not convienient. Just like drinking coffee, I think it's a waste of $$'s when you can make coffee or drink water from the home.

I try and dink around 3 litres of water a day.... So, whatever is available at the time get consumed. Bottled, tapped..... it all comes from the same place.
