Bonds Hits #756

theres no doubt that steroids played a huge part in it. and there is no doubt that he took them, i mean his hat size grew 2 full sizes after he was 35

I was watching Best Damn Sports Show Period last night and I finally heard something that I've been waiting to hear from "sportscasters" for a looooong time.

"I was a player at the Major League level for 7 seasons. I threw 98MPH, with a 92MPH slider and to say that taking a **** can make you hit a pitch like that is LAUGHABLE. It's hard enough to hit ONE home run, let alone 756 of them."

it is not hard to hit one homerun.

there usually is one. i had a guy on my american legion team who was only on the team because he was friends with everybody. he never played, but took up a roster spot.

That's kind of how this *** was...only no one was friends with him. He was a terrible human being and I don't even know why the coaches didn't cut his ass.

One day, in practice, he was playing first base while we were throwing around the horn. Well, he wasn't paying attention and I threw the ball down to first and it hit him square in the chest. Needless to say, he hit the ground like a sack of **** and started gasping for air. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my entire life. God, that was sooooo satisfying. :nanner:

Do they have dope tests in baseball :D

I saw that too. Once again though, Bonds was clearly capable of hitting major league pitching before he used steroids, so what's at issue isn't simply whether steroids allowed him to hit a major league pitch or not. I also saw the interview (and highlight clips) with Bonds that preceeded it (kinda hard to overlook how much barry's body resembled his ******'s until a certain point in time - but nobody drew any attention to that - eh the similarity was probably just a genetic fluke, right rob? *wink*).

But wth do I know. I only played college ball. Let's ask these two professionals with radically differing heads and bodies and see what they have to say....

The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers; it has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.

Field of Dreams 1989

Not anymore it doesn't, unless baseball puts it's house in order, and definitively so.
