Boardwalk Empire

Fuck, it was on last night? I missed it. It looked pretty damn good.

Does it have anything to do with Monopoly? Every time I put hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place, nobody lands there. How the fuck do you build an empire that way?

I loved it, it was the highlight of my Sunday evening. Steve Buscemi was cast amazingly as Nukie Thompson, and the amount of tension that continued through the episode only added to its charm and intensity. The setting and scenery were extremely well done as well, I was sorry to see it end.

The cast is amazing. Steve Buscemi is on top form, glad to see him in a lead role. Need more Omar! He was only in it for about 3 seconds in the first episode, so I hope he becomes a main part in future episodes.

I'm just a bit worried, with HBOs track record, that they will cancel this at some point.

I'll probably wait for the DVD. I much prefer to watch the entire season over a couple of days rather than being beholden to the regular TV format, which I ****.

That is the only problem I have with the show. I like him as an actor but I just can't buy him as a tough guy, womanizing, king maker. Everything else about it I liked so far.

oh my neck of the woods.
gotta check it out.

i heard androgynous ry has a place there on baltic ave.

Atlantic City during the prohibition era.
Well there were no casinos. ( I'm sure a few speakeasys though).
Mostly well off families from Philly, NYC and all parts of NJ buying and building nice homes to vacation in during the summer.
Plus nice Hotels.
All up the Coast from Cape May to Sandy Hook.
Beautiful Area. And the combination smell of the ocean, the salt air, the wood and tar from the boardwalk is really a big part of the ambiance of the place.

I was looking forward to this one it looks really good but I did miss it I heard realky good things from people who saw it though so I'm going to have check a replay or something

If you are savvy enough, just look for it on a random warez site.

:dito:

Don't get me wrong, he is a great actor but he just doesn't look like a tough guy. Then again, when he beat up that douchebag husband that was ******** away his hot wife's money, I believed it and thought it was badass. This could potentially be one of Buscemi's defining roles. So far though, the best actor on an HBO show would have to go to Ian McShane as Al Swearengen on Deadwood. Anytime he was on screen, he was an intimidating presence

I dunno, he was pretty tough in Sopranos.

It started out kind of slow, but I enjoyed watching it...mainly for my love of history. If they do a second season they should somehow incorporate a young Elliot Ness.
