Bioshock 2

Wow I was surprised when I did a search and there was no thread for this.....anyways who is getting this game on tuesday? I got it setup for G'fly and I'm kinda looking forward to this game now after previously being un-interested. The first one was a great game and the start of a good new ip.

It is getting above avg reviews so far and they said that the multiplayer is a good amount of fun. Rank up system similar to Call of dookie, class loadout presets swtichable in match etc.....

I just hope the sequel doesn't turn into one big appeasement game to keep everybody who loved the first one happy.

from what Im reading whimsy, I dont think it will be a leap like Assassins creed 1 to assassins 2 but it will have a decent amount of new stuff. Im hearing that anyone who is indeed looking for a leaps and bounds game over the original is outta luck.

But then again, at least last game didnt have a mulitiplayer component and this one does. That in my book is pretty huge leap in itself....

Damn you and your constant updates of amazing games. Thanks. Bioshock was one of the best and most enjoyable experiences i have gotten out of a video game. I will surely get Bioshock 2, maybe just not right away. Procuring extra "scrilla" can be hard sometimes.

Yeah. I remember hearing about that back when it showed the Big Sister on the cover of Game Informer. This is the year of the sequels I see. Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction... etc. etc.

im getting it loved the first one, i have not read too much about it but i have seen some screens, and i was a little disapointed becouse it seemed so similar to the first one.
i hope im not getting disapointed...

Absolutely, its a huge year for sequels both ps3 and 360. You got the stuff you mentioned there for 360, march you got god of wars debut on ps3, gran turismo's debut on ps3, battlefield bad company 2 multiplatform....its already been a huge year for games and this is only the first week gone in feb.

great time to be a gamer I must say, the tech is great and most, but not all, devs are taking advantage.

Red Dead Redemption is one I am looking forward to and hoping it will do well. It looks great on paper; previews. I just hope it lives up to what is written.

This year is definitely a great year for games. Just hope the boost continues throughout the late spring/summer season, too. 2010. Something about Fable III being out at the end of the year too.

Either way, I am going to petition to my boss for a raise, so I can keep up with all the great games coming out.

petition to your boss for a raise anyway no doubt, but get yourself Gamefly Whimsy, its insane. Im really into games and have the type of career where I can have a good amount of free time in clumps during the week. $40 a month and I get 4 games out at a time, thats $240 dollars worth of games at once. ITs a money saver no doubt.....

If you setup Gfly the right way with send-backs and new releases, you will get a brand new launched game 2 or 3 days after it hits almost everytime.

I have been thinking of GameFly for a while now. I tend to buy my games cheap even when they are fresh on the market anyways. There is a second time around store and back when CoD MW and Bioshock was still going for $60 I got them $25 each. Not too shabby.

However, as time goes on, I am sure I will definitely be considering GameFly. $10 a game if it's $40 that does sound decent. I'm not going to argue with them numbers.

The game is good, well the single player at least but the online is horrible. It is full of lag and just seems broken, really disappointing but I hope a patch will be made soon.

because like the first one, it doesn't need multiplayer to sell well. I've not played it yet. But if it has a strong story like the first and awesome gameplay and graphics like the first, multiplayer is unnecessary

I've never understood why they felt the need to add multiplayer to this game. A big point in the first one is that you are an outsider in this underwater city; you are completely alone and everyone you meet (save one person, I suppose) is hostile towards you. Adding multiplayer kind of goes against the spirit of the game, in my opinion.

Well actually the multiplayer takes place before the first Bioshock, the characters you play as were the ones involved in the civil war between Atlas and Ryan. Actually that's how the teams are divided by, either you are on team Atlas or Ryan and I think that concept was a good idea.

The multiplayer would be great if it wasn't for the lag. I don't know if they were rushed to a deadline or they missed some things before finalizing the game but it COULD have been a good multiplayer game.

It is their way of appeasing those who cried fouled to no multiplayer to bring an option to multiplayer now.

In the end, I think the game is great without, though, as long as they made the game just as awesome I am happy. However I find it to be best to ignore the fans ultimately. I mean look at Halo 2 on up... remember how awesome Halo was? Yeah. After that more and more folks knew about the game and thus it sucked cuz the studio had to cater to them.

Games is nothing but art. Thus the artist should do what they do best, develop the art... the viewers can enjoy or move on. That is that.

I tend to agree that multiplayer is a great addition to a game. I still play and have fun with MW2 once in awhile. Only reason I bought the game. Bioshock is the perfect example of one that doesn't need it. Was still a great game. Does Fallout 3 have multi? I can't remember, but all I ever did was the campaign. Didn't do everything, but went as far as I could with the decisions I made. Shit like that and the role playing aspect make a pretty fuckin good game. Without multiplayer.

Fallout 3 doesnt have multi.
As for BioShock 2 its really good game. Maybe somewhat too simillar to first one with that been there done that feeling but its still great gaming experience.

I bought this to play during the 2 snow days off we had here over the week but never got to it. Gonna dip in this weekend. If Multiplayer sucks than thats ok cause the first game was a great single player experience. Besides, my life will be taken over by Bad company2 soon just like it was by Call of duty when that first came out.
