My friend Joe Lansdale had been in talks with Bill Paxton for several years to do a film adaptation of the novel The Bottoms, too bad they never found the time to make it happen before now.

Just after hearing the news and I am in shock

Bill Paxton starred in such films as The Terminator , Apollo 13 , True Lies and Twister opposite Helen Hunt
He also was in "Aliens" as well as one of Cinema's most lucrative motion pictures James Cameron's Titanic
I think he won an Emmy for his work on the television mini series which charted the legendary Hatfields / McCoys Feud , starring opposite Kevin Costner.
Another actor departs the stage far too soon. Rest In Peace Bill Paxton

He was gosh darn funny as Chet. I loved the rubber shotgun he whacked his brother on the head with....I slow mo'd it, because I could have sworn I saw it bend when he hit him.

He will be missed.
