No, sadly, it doesn't make us feel so much better.

Yes. And there was a time, 2 decades back ~ when something like this happened all the time, too. But to protect the system and the public, those people resigned. The accusers were given reparations and explanations behind the scenes and told to go away.

Now, everything is 'on blast', women are screaming, men feel obliged to scream back and defend ourselves. There is no resignation, there is a public tearing down of the system. It isnt about protecting the image of the country, protecting sanctity of government or media, and having one man step aside so that people can forget about him/her/the issue. Now they feel this compulsion to blurt the whole thing to the world?!

You are going to let the idiotic masses dictate your future?! NOOOO! You are the higher ups, you are supposed to do the wiser, more noble thing! This is like doubling down in blackjack, you DO NOT ALWAYS DO IT! E.g. Judge Kavanaugh isnt just putting his NEXT job on the line, he is betting his entire future on this? It wouldnt be about ever-again sitting on the judicial bench, it would become a criminal trial 2 seconds later. Its about saving the country the anguish of seeing proceedings, saving millions of dollars, and just going elsewhere and letting the angry mob forget about you!
